Having ridden the S100RR with Full Sport options. ie Traction control, quick shift, ABS etc and now riding the Standard model I can say that I personally prefer the Standard one. I have asked my dealer to fit the quickshift as a "toy" but the bike is such a beauty. It has a full two year warranty. BMW build quality and although Yellow was not my first choice of colour but for less than £9K brand new I will live with it!
of course you do! rofl

Depends upon your attitude. I did a day at Brand's and it poured down all day - started just as we were going out for the sighting laps, stopped an hour after we finished and the day before and day after were gorgeous (Grrrrr) - but I found that I probably rode smoother and better than normal because I was so conscious of grip levels (or the absence of them). On most track days I've had the odd, little "moment" but that day in the wet was the exception. And when I went back to Brand's a few weeks after, when it was dry, I was quicker than on previous visits.
Oh yeah, no doubt you would learn a lot. Even commuting in the wet teaches you to be smooth.

When I'm on the bike at a track day I don't fear personal injury at all....more financial ruin.

that looks the NUTS in Red.....want, but still not as much as an RSV4.

Both of them leave the current crop of Japa-hooners in the dust for styling IMO.

For £8995 the Standard bike suits my budget better against £13300 for the Sport ?

Bike threads much funnier than PH car threads...

Looking at K1300S as returning to 2 wheels - reckon that'll do - This RR way too hardcore for me and managed to stay on this planet this far so dont see the need to push my luck too ...

Self-promo a bit much but who cares - thats big $$$ savings...

Can anyone recommend good biker training to get my eye back in (Surrey)

Cheers

No disrespect but anyone who goes out and buys a bike like this or even a sports 600 for that matter as a first bike, is in serious danger of becoming an accident statistic.

Just had my track partner on the phone, his S100RR has been on the Swan Yamaha Dyno and produced 203.7 bhp with a full system and ECU re map.

He's had the forks and rear shock done. First test in at Jerez in a couple of weeks.

Why? It's probably more forgiving than a lot of other bikes out there and if it's a first bike then they're less likely to push it too hard.

I'm pleased to see they've sorted the power delivery out as that was my main gripe with it on the road.

The Red/Black is giving me the horn.

Yes that should be easier with all the electric help than a bold 600 super sport.

The biggest issue would insurance.
