You’d be gutted if you had paid anywhere near list in the last couple of years. £16k is very salty.

World of Triumph are doing the Arrow end can for the Daytona at only £220.50 which is a bit of a steal.

As I’ve already got the exhaust fitted to my bike I decided to order the comfort seat for £41, which is quite a saving too.

They’re pre-reg and there’s always been scope to negotiate a lot off the £16000 RRP.

Thanks folks, I’ve been considering one but the price is steep when compared to something like an MT10.

Nowt wrong with pre reg. I bet you couldn't have negotiated anywhere near £5k off of one a couple of months ago!

I’m not saying you could, but there was scope to knock a fair chunk off for a new one. If that’s the case then a pre-reg has to even cheaper to attract buyers. It might be on a 17 instead of a 67 plate, it’s lost some of its warranty period, it’s lost the option of getting a new one if you wrote it off in the first 12 months, it’s got an extra owner and could be harder to sell on as a buyer may see demonstrator when they see the previous owner.

None of the above makes this a bad deal, but it does explain the lower price for a pre-reg over a negotiated deal on a new bike.

It comes with a full warranty and free first service.

If it came with a good finance package I'd be buying one.

The ones at Gear4motorcycles are 67 reg, so minimal loss of warranty. There's so many pre reg deals nowadays do people even worry about the extra owner when it can be easily proven that the bike had normal delivery mileage and was "new" when purchased albeit for a dealers name on the V5?
Cheap pre reg deals are standard KTM practise. Last year it was the Superduke SE's and 1190's. Previous to that the 1st 1190 Superduke 1290's etc etc. 9 years ago KTM dealers were full of cheap 950's with the 990's parked next to them.
The 2018 GT is ready (£16299) http://www.ktm.com/gb/sports-tourer/1290-super-duk... and the old ones need to go. I bought one KTM at full price, I'd never do it again.

extra £670 although I would imagine you ought to be able to talk deals on any extras required.

My comments were all prefaced with “could” ie not definite. What is definite is that quoting a list price is moot as that was always open to significant negotiation so the discount isn’t really £5000, more like £2000 whichbis still significant bit not the 1/3 discount it appeared to be.

They have a habit of devaluing there dealer stock. Gutting for people who don't no how ktm work, I was offered a brand new crated 2017 1290r a month ago for 12.5k but have decided to keep my 2016 into next year.

I am tempted by the 2017 tuono but those guys never ever seem to have massive sporadic price cuts smile . I guess at least it doesn't devalue the brand .

As someone looking to buy a KTM superduke I’m glad I read this thread because up until yesterday I had no idea!

Are these discounts only available at certain times of the year?

when a new model is released they give heavy discounts on the old stuff, I was very surprised to be offered the 2017 1290r unregistered at 12500, that is bog stock though. no downloads.

I was told that there are no 2017 1290r bikes leaving the production line now until 2018 so you will need to find a dealer with some in stock.

That was a cash deal but they may offer that deal through finance, not sure. They where not interested in my 2016 bike (cant blame them) so for me I would have to struggle with storage space and have the 2 bikes while I try to sell my old one. In the end I have decided to run mine through to next year.
