Ha, the car got destroyed in every race there. When in the real world do you ever go over 160 on the road flat out in a straight line for that long. "Above 160 the gt2 is a monster", you have that then and ill stick with the bike that's a monster from a standstill hehe

To be fair though he knew it.

So chaps if we take the ring as an "equaliser" IE bits to suit the best for all,why is it not a bike that holds the record? (apply this to any circuit lap time)
No argument really?tongue out

I can’t be arsed with this willy measuring anymore.

Why do we need to have it every month.

Who gives a flying fk if a car is quicker than a bike on this circuit or that circuit, or in a straight line……..

I doubt anyone on here could get the best out of a superbike or supercar/hyper car so its meaningless. Does having a bike/car that can do the neverbeen in 8 minutes mean you can do it in 8 minutes, does it fk.

In reality 99% of us who post on PH are st but very few will admit it, the laptop loyalist/keyboard warriors step in with pointless stats and gay as fk bickering. With no respect for other road users, it’s all about enjoyment is it not?

This is why I got out the car scene. Even at ST owners meets people were as wky as some that own supercars on ph. Oh 0-60 this and bhp pish that.

I like cars but the for me I can get supercar kicks from a 15 year old ninja that cost me £1800 2 years ago that’s never missed a beat. I’d need to spend 20 times this on a car to have the same thrill.

Add in the fact if I fk it up on a bike I’m most likely dead that’s what makes me like bikes more…

Ha
I do love posts like this and the banter that flows. But I dont understand how people with litre bikes say they dont enjoy straight line speed.
Dont get me wrong my favourite parts of biking are some nice quiet twisties but at the same time a huge straight pinning it to the point were your testes raise up to just behind your nipples, along side my mates puts a gigantic smile on my face. A day like this sounds like awesome fun even if you loose every round and if your in a car or on a bike.

Shame this badboy won't be turning up....

ENGINE
Type V6 bi-turbo
Cubic capacity 3.2-litres
Number of valves 24
Position Mid-rear
Number of cylinders V6 (60°)
Maximum power 875hp
Torque 90mkg
Maximum revs 7,800rpm
Top speed 240kph / 150mph
0-100kph / 0-62mph 1.8s
0-200kph / 125mph 4.8s
0-240kph / 150mph 7.0s

Peugeot's new Pikes Peak contender. http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=2759...

I don't think a factory supported Moto GP bike could match those acceleration figures?

No you'd need a drag bike, but really, who cares!

Gear a MotoGP bike to match the 150mph top speed and I'm sure it would be very close.

It's going to be a fantastic event, as others has said some cars will beat some bikes and some bikes will beat some cars.
I have no problems at all losing out to exoticly tuned cars infact it would be thrilling to whitness one pulling away from me.

It's all horses for courses.
Fergus: Peugeot's new Pikes Peak car is a prime example, I'm just coming out of 3rd (of 6 gears) at 192mph when that car stopped accelerating some 40mph earlier. Granted it will get to 150 before me but this isn't 1/4 racing. Actually 150 is way to slow for that as well.
Please note for clarity the 192mph is the race bike not the ZZR14 turbo I'll be using on Sunday.

If I had far deeper pockets then I'd have a hyper car (as well as hyper bikes) but alas the Lottery God has yet to notice little old me!!!

Blimey thats 3 posts all typed by me and my grubby fingernailed mits biggrin

"I was just getting out of 2nd, when we went super sonic..."

That's some pretty tall gearing you're running there. What sort of power do you have, as to get to 192 in 3rd also needs a fair bit of torque.

Out of interest, what do you use the rce bike for? Drag Racing? Sounds very impressive either way.

Is your bike able to see off Jack Frost's turbo 'Busa (248mph, standing mile & 278 vmax IIRC)?

I love all this stuff. Makes me laugh.

As others have said, people take the result of any comparison far too seriously instead of an interesting comparison between light weight and mega power and how fast you can go for how little cash.

I'm really tempted to go, just for the craic if nothing else. Will probably take the car instead of the bike though to give me a fightin' chance!

Presumably a dragster has long low gears to help the launch and really short top gears to keep accelerating as the speed increases?

You may be, but give it another couple of hours and there'll be a thread linking to this one on general gassing, then there'll be an invasion of people with Calibras with drain exhausts baosting about how they 'owned' a GSXR1000 or some ste!

Don't dragsters only have two gears, or did I imagine that?
