Rather excitingly I managed to bag an entry to the Track Day which theyre doing at East Fortune on the 7th of June, it seems to be the first one in possibly two decades. Although the last one I can find being discussed is a car day.

Hi my apologies i didnt come back to this thread yesterday so missed the replysWhat bike you riding
Sidecar Man i think i spoke to you once was you the instructor ? if so you went out with a couple i was with the zx12 first session and the s1000 last session
Had a Great afternoon / evening,
I was on a 02 zx6r
Went out in the first session for 2 laps then in as per breifing, then we were let out for the remainder of the session think i got 4 or 5 laps, took it easy and trying to learn the braking points ( one thing surprised me at how hard you can be on the brakes ) and corner apex points, i was a bit early turning/tipping in on a couple corners which put me a bit wide on exit but thats learning which once you do it once you know for next time round, but there were a quite few fast guys that overtook in some places that i didnt expect which threw me off a bit but session was a good leaning curve.
Session 2 after a lap or 2 i started to pick up pace through hollywood / craners / old hairpin / starkeys which gained me confidence in this area of the track but there was still some faster / bigger bikes that come wizzing passed but a lot better session had
Session 3 missed as due to Ambulance being busy and not in location for the session to run, hope they are ok who had an off
Session 4 same as session 2 really few laps to get up to pace, and ended up behind someone most of the session he was bit early on the brakes and through the corners but he was gone on the straights but it was fun
overall big big leaning curve on how the bike can brake on curcuit and a lot more intense sessions than what i was expecting but overall happy with the experience and enjoyed it ticked off my bucket list would do it again, i dont think im ready for a full day the few sessions were enough for me at the moment.

Glad you enjoyed yourself.
Had my first accident yesterday at Oulton Park.
Braking into Island bend from about 120/130,changed down and it just crunched, wouldn’t go in gear, kept trying and it just wouldn’t go in.
Ran wide and scrubbed of most of my speed, hit the grass and went down.
A Trip to A&E and the lump in my shoulder is a dislocated bone which is hopefully being sorted by orthopaedic department very soon because it’s very uncomfortable and is very painful..
The bike came out very well with just a bent shifter and a few scratches.
Some investigation in the gearbox and quick shifter is needed before its next outing.
