Right my track wes! Im skint so Ive decided to book some more track days (Because 1+1=3)

Donni this sunday 30th July and I got two mates who have dropped out if you want to take their place. Pay of course but guaranteed spaces

Also Im thinking Cadwell on 4th August open pit lane for some willy waving

Whos doing it or fancies it
I would've done, but I reckon the 1000km race the day before will wipe me out.
By Sunday morning, I'll not want to even look st my bike again, let alone get on it and ride smile
I'm not guaranteeing seeing much of the morning
I'm staying at a mates house down the road, and sharing a bed with my 10yr old son, so no doubt I'll be up around 8am frown
And shame... I'm getting this superstars autograph laugh

Nope not us, we're a bunch of old duffers having a laugh, none of us expect much, other tuna ideally to finish. We did Anglesey last month and then the sprint races at Oulton a few weeks ago, all with No Limits Racing.

Done a full day at Snett on a mate's R1M and then I flipped it and did cadwell on my 750

You reckon that's got another day in it?

Trying to save money on tyres usually ends badly in my previous experiences. Stick a new one on if ever any doubt. Costs a lot less than new fairings

Also you need to look at the profile of the tyre rather than just the wear markers

It is possible to be too MumsNet about the answer but truth is if you're not racing or chasing lap times and if the profile isn't too wonky (i.e you've worn a deep furrow in the shoulder) then run it until the markers disappear.

Tyre chaps have issues about reversing them, let alone running them on a 6" rim one direction and then sticking it on backwards on a 5.5" rim like what you're doing but ride it some element of feel and check it for weird wear & cracks as you're putting the warmer back on then you should be okay.

Yes good point on the 5.5 rim. You do see it wears different between the two

It's not so much the wear holes but more the shape it goes. The ones in Spain had holes still showing but started sliding terrible on third day

Think I'll do what my gut says. I've not done donni before so I'll learn the track in the morning on them and put a fresh one on at lunch

Haha no not quite. I've not ridden it and despite him saying to have a go I'm not gonna. It's a 20k track only bike that he ploughed another 20k in last winter. Thing is a work of art but fk riding that as a track bike

Does anyone on here do regular days/evenings at Brands? I've recently moved to Southampton (From Manchester) and i think Brands is now my nearest track. I've heard they're total ball aches in regards to coolant being water only for example and basically being very strict on the rules. Can anyone vouch? Only did my first proper track day so far back in June, then did a sort of track day at RAF Benson earlier this month smile

Also, has anyone done many evenings track days? How are they?

No issues with coolant on a trackday, their biggest concern will be noise levels

I second this. Same as Snetterton. The noise police are tough at these places. Standard can or a very long 400mm can needed unless you have a newer bike with cat still in that keeps noise down
