Discussion
Im back on fb as of last week and see on track addicts loads of comments about this guys death. I personally think it's poor how some people need to know the ins and outs
I just hope that it was over quick as in be was unconscious and his last memories were that of him having a wicked time round the track (in fact it must've been as he was on an Aprilia)

Just read through the last few comments on v02 and KR
Interesting as v02 were my first slicks and I now swear by them. I prefer medium front as I find the soft chews up too quick and is a bit squidgy. Front I run 32-34 straight off track
Rear I prefer soft but I've run medium plenty. Rear I run 23 summer and about 25 when it was cooler beginning part of the year
I'm going Spain in two weeks and bought some KR scrubs as backup as I've only got one new set of v02s
It seems the rears on KR need to be soft. I was also recommended 22psi 23 max. I'm not keen on scrubs but they'll be OK if I get half day out of reach rear before it starts moving coming out the corners

...statement...
Jasesapphy, thanks for posting that. For the record, I'm not rubbernecking, Chris was a mate. I've only done two trackdays (both at Mallory) and Chris showed me the way round both times. He will be missed.Right, enjoy Knockhill, Portimao, and all the rest. Have fun.
Jerez last week.
I've not been before and had no inclination of ever going but ended up buying a place from one of our regular group who had snapped the tendon in his arm at work (he still came for the drink though)
I was told it was an inters place but in turned out to be novice.
First day
Off plane and its feckin red hot, get to Hotel, unpack and go to track to unload bikes from the crates and into the garage, back to the Hotel and only have One pint of shandy all night!
Up and ready for breakfast at 7am, looked outside and it was pissing down, got to the track and sit with a face like a smacked arse because I could have got upside down with the beer the previous night. By 12pm ish it was only drizziling but the track was still wet so I decided that I was going out even though I said I would never ride on track in the wet again.
Get ready, sit on the bike go to start it and the fkin battery is flat, seat unit off and a jump start later I'm off onto a wet track with Supercorsa's pro's front and rear and not a single clue which way the track goes, As its open pit lane due to the rain I stay out for 40 minutes and only come in when my fuel light comes on,
Around 2pm its pretty dry and I get 3 sessions in before close of play. Last session I come in and tell the lads "I'm not even fastest in Novice as I couldn't get past a lad on a Blue R1 much to their enjoyment, I later found out he's an instructor.
I text McKean while the Mrs and a few others are in a supermarket and gets loads of great advice from Neil.
I drank coke that night too
Day 2
Inters and I'm told there is too much of an overlap with times and I'll have to stay in Inters and in future book the correct group! thats me told then!
I remember that I haven't checked my tyre pressures since Donington in July.
I have a great day and try to be smooth.
No Beer again (see Neil)
Day 3
I remember that I have a camera so fit it and follow a mates wife for a few laps. (he's cut my last 3 laps off)
I also have a great day in 40 degree heat.
Key points.
i rode in the wet after a 5 year lay off,
I wasn't the fastest in novice
I was the fastest in Inters
There were some animals in the fast group
I did a track video after not bothering for 3 years
Every session I did I stayed out for the full 20 minutes ( I haven't done that since breaking my hip)
I had a great time with friends I've know for 25 plus years
I really do feel like carrying on now with TD's.
Bike
I ran it in power 2 after advice from Paul25 (others know him as (gayboy)
I have finally worn out the original standard yamaha brake pads
I'm going to remove the ABS as the lever was pulsing braking to the apex at turn 1 and the linked brakes are a pain in the arse at turn 2 when the back starts to swing around.
I had great tyre wear while others had bad tyre wear...
...So, the R1 is staying and so am I.
A really well run trip as usual by No Limits again I might add

Glad you enjoyed riding again John. Was wishing I could have been on the trip with you as it's always a blast with you lot for company.
What did you think of Jerez?
I wish you had been there too Neil, I could have done with your first hand help. I think Jerez is second to Mugello for me.What did you think of Jerez?

Glad you enjoyed yerself. Pity he chopped your video - the RWern was just starting to sound sweet when you'd finished gawping at her arse! Key points.

Good man, glad you found your mood John.
Maybe I should try again!
I've lost my mojo a bit. I know how that can feel. Only started last year too so I should be fresh still Maybe I should try again!
Sometimes a good day on track, getting there the day before with a decent bunch. Getting the beers, bbq/takeaway and then the day on track having no issues, no crashes and aching like fk on the way home is all you need to get that buzz back

Forgetting tyre pressures is a sign of getting old, I definatly didn't drink even on the last night, I just didn't fancy it, Coke Cola, Ice and Lemon. And no way did you not drink... I've never seen anyone consume alcohol like you lot did haha
I think thats another sign of getting old.

I have uploaded the full warts an all video, it shows me waiting untill she was ready to go and then she went for it out of pit lane and I couldn't catch her for a lap.17min 18 seconds I loose my foot off the footpeg
I don't look at her backside, she's one of the lads and it would make me feel gay doing that.

Snetterton yesterday.
Started off wet but dried fairly quickly. Was quite a few red flags, and I understand the last session of Inters there was a bad incident, hope all involved OK. I'd just come round Murrays when the red flags went up so called it a day after that with only 8 mins left of the session I think they scraped it anyway.
Anyone else there enjoy the day?
