I thought the whole idea of running those adhesive transponders was to sort anomalies like this early on.
When I was there last month, there was a guy in with us in fast2 who was clearly novice group paced despite it still being the first morning, and he was moved down after a couple of sessions.
The NL guys were moving people around fairly constantly as there were a lot more riders in fast 2 than in the other two groups.
Anyway, 1:42's a great time George, and sorry to hear you binned it. I like to think that only the really good riders crash at Cartagena wink - I've crashed twice there now, and McKeen went down there too
Quickshifter issues are pain in the arse, as there's normally a million things that can be causing it, most of which can't be fixed simply trackside
Hope you're enjoying the last day today, looks like the sun's out from the pics I've seen on the NL facebook today
They just said they weren’t reviewing the times until the end of each day. Other than that a well run event.

Cheers, fairly pleased with the time but think I could have done better if I had more time with the bike working properly! My theory is you aren’t trying hard enough if you don’t crash occasionally!

It’s intermittent which is the most annoying thing. Works perfectly for a lap then cuts out, come into the pits, bike off and on, works fine for one - two laps then cuts out again. Then randomly works perfectly for a session! It’s to do with the clutch microswitch apparently so have ordered 2 so I always have a spare for in future.

Sun is out today but it’s a bit breezy, just taking it steady away trying to focus on consistency when the bike allows it!

When we use Trackdays for rider time we always try to use a Euro company as they are mostly Chrono. The sooner this becomes the norm the better, 1.42 around Cartagena pace in novice group is mad, that's only 10 seconds of a fast Moto2 time there!
That's a lot less than 10 seconds off a moto2 time. The lap record there is only 1:32 by Luke Mossey this time last year, and a fast moto2 rider would be nearer 1:36-7
No Moto2 can do 32 around there. There isn't official timing though.

Few pics from Cartagena. Paintwork isn’t as shiny in the first pic as that’s after the trip to the gravel! Also sporting a full factory duct tape toe slider

Is it not because your airbag is still inflated?

Nice pics, looking forward to getting back there next month
My bike’s currently having new suspension fitted and some gearbox work at MSS, so that’s gotta be worth at least 5sec/lap (or just keeping it the right way up)

After getting my brother in his first euro track day at cartagena end of last year he's got a bit of a buzz for it and to be honest his gsxs 1000 should really stay on the road

So... He randomly bought a track bike last week. He's got it really cheap and really is dipping his toe to see what he thinks

I spent the night just starting to set it up and getting things as they should be. Lots of things needed flushing, tightening etc

Also I told him to get a 17in rim as its a old 96 fireblade so has the 16in rim

Only issue is finding a disc to match. If anyone knows before I start researching it looks like the same 296mm disc only 6 bolt fixing much further out

10 bonus points if you can work out the age of the tyres... Bikes done 15,000 miles 2 owners

VFR750 wheel will go straight in a 96 with existing spacers (94-97 VFR)

I don't think I changed discs or anything. A 91-93 might be the same but I am not sure.

If that’ll take a vo2 slick, I’ve got some scrubs he can have to get him started ?

Yes it would and he'd be over the moon. He's doing it on the relatively cheap without compromising on safety which is why I'm going over bits with him (that actually might be worse idea haha)

If you could put them aside he'd be well chuffed. He's novice pace
