Does anybody happen to know what the electricity hookups are like in the garages at cartagena? Is it just a case of taking a standard European plug adaptor and a multisocket to run warmers?

Standard euro plug. No blue sockets.

Thanks mate, first time using warmers so I'm guessing I can use a UK extension and just plug that into the adaptor?

What's the preference on paddock stands vs centre lifts like the bursig type?

I have an abba skylift in the garage but it's a bit of overkill for trackdays!

Paddock stands but only needed if you’re running tyre warmers.

Yes, I'll have warmers on - any reasons against the centre lifts? I need to buy one or the other (2) as my road bike has a single sider.

Paddock stands are cheap as chips and take up no room at all. I’m guessing the centre stand thing you’re mentioning is a Bursig type thing which cost a bloody fortune.

If you want a centre lift buy one, don’t wait for someone to recommend one though.

Do what every other owner of a single sided swing arm bike does - use the appropriate single sided rear paddock stand , or ... simply buy the stand you actually want to buy and don’t ask for approval , any ( genuine ) suggestion or advice from a wealth of experience on here will probably only be met with the normal whining justification of why you are going to buy “x” anyway as already planned and the cry for attention to focus on oneself will be typically obvious ....
Then just sell it when you decide against the purchase ....
Hope this helps, if not - sorryo but stands / bits of plastic / carbon / ste Chinese metal , tall pink fluffy screens ( insert at will ) just don’t matter to anyone else . Make your choice - live with it . Have a great night - I had a stty day , cheers smile

I think you need a beer, seriously - go get one and relax for a few minutes. It's worked for me the last hour or so.

Anyway - I'm not asking for approval, I'm growed up enough to make my own decisions. What I was asking is whether having a centre lift type would be better / worse / no difference vs a front and rear stand. As the old phrase goes, you don't know what you don't know so I'm asking. There might be a good reason to avoid one for TD's maybe?

My ROAD bike has a single sider so I have a stand for that. I also have an abba stand and abba skylift but won't be sticking the skylift in the car to take to the track. The Constands centre lift appears quite reasonable at £200 vs some good quality paddock stands - the single sider I have is from constands.

Cheers! (hopefully)

If the centre lifts were appropriate for trackdays don’t you think everyone would be using them, including race teams?

Paddock stands are the best option, it is that simple. If you can get an under yoke type front stand then that’s even better.

Awesome - I applaud you , seemingly received in the spirit it was intended , a decent Merlot appears to be working well now , so .... on a serious note - what particular bike are we talking about ( model and year ) and I’m sure I and possibly others will give their best advice , ps I too have a Skylift and no way do you want that for a TD , some have and do use frame centre stands but name the bike and we’ll try out best - cheers beer

On my last track day I didn't survey everyone on site and check what stand they were using - maybe I should have done a questionnaire or something so I could have gathered the data while I was there. Or maybe I just didn't take any notice as I wasn't using tyre warmers and rode to the track.

Maybe you need a beer too?

Yes, as intended - enjoy the Merlot! I've got an early start so should really pack in early. I'm also not very sensible.

It's a K5 GSXR 750 btw.

Standard front and rear paddock stands - appropriate to whichever swingarm bobbins/ lifters and front forks/ calipers you have fitted .
NB ( not BN ..)
I misinterpreted re the centre stand as I read it as you were using the road bike ( single sided ) for the TD . Enjoy thumbup
