That’s too high, I run 19 hot. Also if your suspension isn’t working properly then it won’t be helping the situation.
Note taken I'll try lower next time. I turned the rebound in a bit harder and found the issue cleared but think Id already done the tyre a bit

SBS that make Bendix have just been taken over who has asked "why do we sell pads under two brand names" so they've just killed the Bendix brand. They'll be a few bargains knocking about for a month or two hence your BOGOF deal.

Try not to use the Bendix MCR (or SBS Dual Carbon - same thing) in the wet as you'll get horrendous wear rate as it's a material transfer pad. Use a metal sintered pad instead such as their MRR pad.
Oh...off I go hunting some cheap sets of pads then.

Let me know if you find some cheap... I need some for the R1 and pads aren't cheap for them! (six pot)

Seen a couple of Instagram posts about this, and the Yamaha event.

How does one get involved with them?

Graeme?

Just book, they release the dates through the dealer network, you can only ride a Ducati or if you don't have one they rent the Panis out via CSS who run the days. The next Ducati one is early July but my bike won't be back in time from a different trip .....

Great days out and not as frenetic as a normal open day ..... lots of people riding their expensive pride and joys ... so not full of banzai wannabes on 3k CBR600 track slags ....

Hi Stew,

The Yamaha thing was completely separate to the Ducati day. It just happened to be at the track day there on the 29th.

Yeah, the Ducati day was organised by Ducati UK for owners (through California Superbike School, so they provided the instructors), whereas the Yamaha Pro tour runs alongside a regular Silverstone trackday, and just means that there's Yamaha flagship bikes for people to book for a session to try out - And as Silverstone instructors are all on R1's and R1M's anyway, we all work at those (they also did Donington the day before, and are at Brands next Monday - http://www.msvtrackdays.com/bike/calendar/2018/jun...

Suzuki have one at Silverstone later this year where you can blast around on a GSXR for a session, and they'll have some of their Riders there doing demo's on BSB bikes etc

How was the weather? I saw the impending rain and thought sod taking the 1098R and brought said GSXR track slag and they wouldn't let me out. Got offered a free hire bike but didn't fancy the £1200 excess, so went home with a full refund. The woman who was the head of Ducati marketing was a complete snobby cow to me which soured my day and put me off staying. Every other person I dealt with was nice as pie.

I saw a Duke with a massive PH smiley on one side with the Alton lot. Your bike?

I kinda get their snobbiness, given you've turned up at a Ducati day with a GSXR, no ?

It was just their head of marketing woman, everyone else was nice as pie. Guess she didn't want a GSXR in all their marketing photography going round which is fair enough. She was just being difficult. I didn't want to risk sitting in the pit for half a day when I don't have wets for my 1098R when I could ride the GSXR and have spare wheels with wets if I needed them.

I'd have been all over it if it wasn't for the £1200 excess! I was seriously having to weigh it up but I don't have the money should I be unfortunate enough to bin it.

Hi

Bone dry all day but guess thats not what you want to hear, sounds unusual for Debbie to be snobby, I know she was battling multiple issues, such as the garage electrics in the wing constantly tripping, some customers needing their bums wiped etc, maybe you caught her at the wrong moment ....

The free hire bike offer was a nice touch but I get why you may not want to, damage your own bike and you can wait to repair until funds allow, bin one of those and its an immediate funds deduction from your deposit.

The Duke with the massive PH Logs is my mate Andys, its an absolute weapon under those fairing, not what you would expect at all, its a lovely build that he has managed and pulls like a train, hope to get a go on it at Brno later in the month.

Mine is the Martini 999 a few posts up /\ ....

The bloke behind you is going to have a big lowside very soon and probably wonder why. That photo should explain it to him nicely.

Yep.... He rode like a bit of a tool most of the day and put 2 close passes on me, 1 midway through the long right hander at the end of hangar straight.

Plus he makes that bike look like a mini moto which I didn't notice until seeing the picture hehe

Don't know if anyone has seen the posts on social media, but trackday photographer Alex James has had all of his gear stolen whilst out in Spain I believe.

NoLimits have started a JustGiving page(Alex didn't ask for them do to so).

Unreal. I hope he gets his gear back or is able to purchase new stuff.

I did post up about it yesterday in a separate thread. I know him from when he first started out - lovely lad and mega helpful. Proper gutted for him, he does have insurance but it will take time to resolve. So the just giving page is about getting him back on his feet ASAP.

I had to have a word with him at one point, as although it's improved in that pic, he had his feet turned out like a penguin in the first sessions and was wearing his boots out
