I had to have a word with him at one point, as although it's improved in that pic, he had his feet turned out like a penguin in the first sessions and was wearing his boots out
A mate of mine who once coached at CSS had plenty to say about it. Simple comment is that it’s easier to list what’s right rather than what’s wrong. His crash won’t be good as it'll be on a fast corner.

The bloke behind you is going to have a big lowside very soon and probably wonder why. That photo should explain it to him nicely.
Yep.... He rode like a bit of a tool most of the day and put 2 close passes on me, 1 midway through the long right hander at the end of hangar straight. Plus he makes that bike look like a mini moto which I didn't notice until seeing the picture

I'm a bit guilty for a toe slide My style ain't bad but it ain't all Instagram elbow down style. I just lean into the corner until my knee and then toe touch... I kinda know that's the limit and on a rareoccasion I get a tiny touch on the link pipe
Looking at that picture above as Gavia said without question he's gonna have a nasty front end slide soon
That was me last week and it ain't ever gonna get any better
So the one trackday I miss out and leave my mates to go with out me ends up having Maverick Viñales and Jorge Martin riding the day at. Saw a video of a friend of mine riding in fast group and being overtaken on the inside and outside by both of them at the same time. Insane how much quicker they are than normal trackday riders.
Had a mega couple of days at Cadwell with MSV. Was sessions yesterday but open pitlane today. Some shocking standard of riding to say it’s supposed to be no novices, people doing lifesavers on sit up bikes like Fazers etc, whilst riding in the middle of the track. Was fairly red flag free though and towards the end of the day when it was quiet it was spot on
Chrissy Rouse was there on Sunday, was helpful following him for a bit. Pretty st picture but me and him wheelieing after the mountain:
Alastair Seeley set up next to me today, really nice guy and helped me out a lot, even slowing down to let me follow him for a couple of laps. Managed to get down to a 1:35.72 after taking his lessons on board which I was well happy with! Hopefully can get into the 34s next time I’m racing there

Sounds like a mega couple of days. Gotta love having the chance to tag on and learn from the fast people. I recently had Gino Rea come past me into turn 3 at Snet like I had stopped moving. It was unreal...
I was at Snet again for the evening session yesterday. I normally suffer with a hate/hate feeling of the place, but I actually felt happy and comfortable there for once.
It's not a marker of speed, but last time I was there, knee down felt like an alien concept. Last night, I even so much as thought about it and I was probably at greater lean angle and speed through some corners than I'd ever been there.
I have made a few small changes to the bike which may have helped me and my feeling with it.
Question for anyone in the know- I'm at Mallory this coming Saturday. Can we gain access to the paddock area Friday evening?

Last year when I went they let me sleep in the outer paddock, well within the circuit grounds but not the actual paddock as it’s in the middle of the track so couldn’t access it. I just backed the trailer into a corner and slept on an air bed in the car, don’t know about a tent though...
If you’re just dropping stuff off though it may be a different matter

Someone I know who rides to all his track days and enjoys a fairly modest plod round in novice was there yesterday on his SD1290 raving about his new Rosso Corsa 2 tyresI was at Snet again for the evening session yesterday. I was at Snett 2 weeks ago and Rea was there - he did the same with me and I thought I was going pretty good. Reality sinks in hard when they outbrake you and trail brake into a corner when you think you're already on the max

Yeah it was great following Seeley, he was so smooth and pin point accurate on the bike, doesn’t even look like he’s trying but was absolutely flyingBirky_41 said:

Thanks but still got a lot more to find. Hopefully another 3 seconds off it then I’ll be happyNot quite track prepped for Saturday at Pembrey....
Currently rebuilding the forks. Does any body have a base set up, or handy rough guide for where to set the compression/rebound? I was planning to to standard settings and tweak throughout the day but if any one has a better idea or a guide (say X% increase) from road for track it would be appreciated.

I get mixed up with my Tom's - one might have an old R1 like my white & red one but that looks like an SRAD GSX-R to me. I only own one GSX-R at the moment (a later model 750K1 and not ridden it more than 50 miles) in addition to the 3 R1's. Summer sale required.
My best mate is an Ohlins / Racetech / Matris trained techy so I generally DO NOT TOUCH once set - it would be like having a dog and learning how to bark myself!
I might allow myself some pointing, nodding and shaking of head and passing on of half learnt titbits of info.
