Should I take my ZX10 up there for potential purchasers? You know, those that don’t get through the sound test
Are you selling??????No!!!!!!!
It’s unlikely I will get on track this year so it makes more sense to swap it for some working capital and see what next year brings
Biker Banter garage at Donington today. Very quiet in the garages, although it’s a quiet day so we’re all baffled to buggery. Practice makes perfect for all of us though as we’re all racing against each other this weekend.
My bike in the foreground, graeme4130’s sporting no.113 and McKean (greedy bugger) has the ZX10 on the left and the the R1 on the right.

So after a couple of years I've finally booked my first trackday.
Nervous and excited in equal measure. Donington Park on 14th August ona 108 dba day
I've got a 2013 Daytona 675R, I've read numerous differing opinions on noise for them, its got the stock exhaust but the triumph arrow slip-on with baffle fitted. I've not done a trackday but is 108dba Drive by loud? I assume it is and I shouldn't have any probs but just worried about turning up and not getting to ride.
Can't wait! and hope this weather holds out till then

108dB is earsplittingly loud. You will be fine. Not least because whilst it’s called a 108 day in reality it is unsilenced and you can go to whatever volume you want. Nervous and excited in equal measure. Donington Park on 14th August ona 108 dba day

How did you get on with the noise limits? I got sent home even though I put a baffle in last time. Despite passing at Snetterton which is a lower ride by limit, with no baffle My bike in the foreground, graeme4130’s sporting no.113 and McKean (greedy bugger) has the ZX10 on the left and the the R1 on the right.

I’ve got two exhausts with different link pipes. The quiet one I used measures 97 static at Oulton but it pings the meter here at 102 so I put a baffle in and had no problem. It didn’t affect the bikes performance either. I did an MSV day a few weeks back with you and I just rolled the throttle on the gantry with the meter and got away without a baffle for most of the day. When I forgot was when it pinged 102.
Noisy one will be going on for the weekend though. Because I can

Good news for me ahead of the race this weekend was Mckeann didn’t pass me once in the whole day. A few years back he’d have mullered me in every session. In his defence he was setting up and learning a new bike but was still banging in mega laptimes at 1:38 I think.
I can whole heartedly state that I passed McKeen today. He did have his hand up at the time, and claims it's because he was going into the pits. However, I'm convinced he had his hand up in defeat at my pace That was a cracking day, and everyone was riding well
FE get a lot of st, not least from me, but they ran a really good day today, and the guys they had working for them were really friendly, and helpful. Credit where it's due, they were very good today
I think there was only around 30 in fast group too, and none of us pinged the sound meter, so I think these quiet days are the way forward for good track time and low numbers
Yep. Completely agree it was a good day, well run and no bother at all from the noise police. The low numbers combined with their limited pace meant it was almost like having a track to ourselves
BN will like this. Visordown were there doing tests on all the current crop of road superbikes. I took great pleasure in stuffing it up the inside of them and clearing off.
