Quick question for you fast group guys. What's the sort of percentage of superbikes to supersport and lower capacity machines?
Most of the pictures I see seem to be 1000cc bikes so is it hard to keep up the pace on smaller bikes (for non racers)
Hard to say but at a guess from last few I've done 70/30Most of the pictures I see seem to be 1000cc bikes so is it hard to keep up the pace on smaller bikes (for non racers)
Weather was not on our side with it raining, dry, then heavy rain afternoon
This was the first session after lunch. I typically take the first lap a bit easier to get back into it. Had someone on a Ducati Panigale come up the inside coming into clearways so decided to give chase
Was good fun, a lot of traffic and took me a couple laps to get him back. Also had a 'moment' where someone decided to use the exit normally used for the GP circuit which had me on the anchors!
It started spitting a tiny bit mid way through this session but not enough to affect grip. Unfortunately there were a few red flags that day from the slippery conditions catching people out

I reckon so, nobody barring that Ducati rider seemed to really stand out. There were a couple in the video I'm guessing low 50s. The Ducati guy in the garage who was next to me said he was doing 51s. There were a lot though at a fairly chilled paceZarco said:
Was anyone else at Silverstone today?
Done my first day and think I have the bug now.
It’s easy to get the bug…. Not as easy to get the weather!!!Done my first day and think I have the bug now.
Yes , I was there on Wednesday. First time at Silverstone and loved it, what a track. It’s a lot of money but it’s worth it. A lot of track to remember and learn but satisfying when you get it right. The old Fireblade loved it!!!

If they had another date at Silverstone this summer I'd book it now. It's expensive but it's way more track than Brands Indy. Silverstone is also my closest track (Reading) which is a big plus as I ride there.
I'm trying to see if I can get a day at Brands next month now though.

Yeah I really enjoyed it. No issues with the bike but my body is in bits. Blood shot right eye (don't know what happened there - bit of crap in my eye when I had the visor cracked open sometimes?). Thighs are very stiff and sore.

I get what you mean about Brands Indy but GP dates are few and far between ;-( went a couple of weeks ago and got hit with a lunchtime monsoon !!! I used to live 15 mins from BH and just been given 3 extra free days off with work but no decent dates at BH or Silverstone that suit, also need 101/102 DB days as the Pani blew 101.4 at BH !!!
Whatever I do needs a van rental so will see what I can squeeze in but all days like the last one show is why I do euros !!

We had a thunderstorm after lunch at Silverstone on Wednesday. The wet session and drying session afterwards were still enjoyable for a wide-eyed novice like me I get it if you do loads of days it seems a bit pointless riding in the wet.I get what you mean about Brands Indy but GP dates are few and far between ;-( went a couple of weeks ago and got hit with a lunchtime monsoon !!! Ah, the simple days of riding to circuits with tyres you can use all year round !!! Its a slippery slope once you progress to a dedicated trackbike and more extreme rubber, I have spare wheels but half the time can't be faffed and you're still hedging your bets it will stay wet or get dry again !!!
Its always fun though
