Ah lots of bikes have a slight shudder at lower RPM's, they just aren't designed to sit there!
Some stainless can be magnetic but honestly seeing the pictures it looks as though the pipes are black or at least very darkened?
I'd hazard a guess they're not stainless
Sorry Tom, thought it was you who said later VFRs had stainless downpipes on Tall Paul's other thread. It was Podman. Some stainless can be magnetic but honestly seeing the pictures it looks as though the pipes are black or at least very darkened?

Tail pipe on those definitely stainless steel.
Here's some pics in the daytime:

Picked this mega low miles (5500), pampered 58 reg Fazer last night for two up & touring duties.
Needs de-blinging somewhat, not entirely to my taste but much money spent on add-ons. The previous owner did 300 miles since he bought it in 2014. He nearly cried when I told him what I wanted it for, not to mention it pouring down moments after I left.
Anyone near a FZ1/R1/R6 to tell me the length of the grips. Urgently want to replace the 'toilet roll tube' thick heated ones immediately - one's loose & the other doesn't work.
Fancied one of those myself end of last year but the budget wouldnt stretch that far, as you say, once the tat has been removed itll look a lot better, should be perfect for your needs.Needs de-blinging somewhat, not entirely to my taste but much money spent on add-ons. that looks so clean, great for a commuter. How much?I'm just looking at exhausts as the stock one is far too quiet, don't really want to spend much though. I know the 8th gen 2014 slip on fits straight on so I'll keep an eye out for a used one on ebay. Want somthing loud, but not too loud

New tyres transform the bike! I don't see many other R1200Rs', such an easy bike to ride and live with, probably my favorite bike i've owned so far.
Beautiful bike! I've never seen one on the road. Edited by knitware on Friday 28th April 20:12
What's the difference between this and a S1000R?

If you have a little patience, the VFR forum is great place to pick up an exhaust and items like luggage etc considerably cheaper than the likes of eBay....
Which VFR forum? There's a few I've noticed, some US based. I'm not in a rush so that sounds perfect I joined this one, found them a helpful bunch ...

Quality afternoon with my Dad today, we finally managed to finally refit his refurbed Bantam wheels back in the bike, a couple of the parts we bought from (apparently) reputable brit bike suppliers didnt fit and caused a lot of heartache , more money getting them to fit and much going to and forth and all the delay that caused....we was also borrowing a friends bench for a "few weeks"...
The "recommended" tyre didnt fit in the front mudguard, so had to be changed, every day is a learning day but with a new to me British bike and Dad forgetting some of what he had learned from back in the day, it was even more so....we now have some Whitworth spanners thou!
The wheels we had done as the chrome was falling off and the hubs turning to powder, seeing as the rest of the bike had been restored they was an eyesore, with everything refinished now inc new rims, spokes , sprocket, cables etc it looks very posh.
I was astonished when it fired first kick with some fresh fuel in it after a 7 month lay up, Dad was stoked to get it home as I was.
