Yeah the bike is going to have to get used to going considerably slower!

Cracking photo, I need to get me some of that 6.30am start one day without the word work attached to it frown . I can but dream of not being a lazy and being sober on a weekend. I had a go on my mates 2016 tuono yesterday on our ride out and was stunned buy its torque compared to my old rsv4, I no its a bigger motor but not buy much.
Cracking bike but I like the character of my ktm1290 biggrin Incidentally if anyone is thinking of buying the new 2017 1290r I was offered a brand new crated bike for £12500 at a major ktm dealer, that makes my 10 month old 2016 model worth fook all then rolleyes
I've just had a promotion so while I try get the new business upto speed I'm doing 7.30am until 7.30pm really done me this week. The ride today was needed but had to go that early to do family time from lunch and my boys birthday in the evening. Shattered now but heads over thinking on what things I need to set in place tomorrow

I rode the Duke and found it really nice, definitely up there with my 1100 but goes about it very different. One of the guys I ride with and did nurburgring with has or shall I say had the rsv4 up until today and he said the same. His bike was quicker above 120 but lacked the torque mine has throughout the range

Bit like your bike I still laugh away to myself when I'm getting a lick on and it'll come off a nice flowing roundabout, crest or nice corner in 2nd/3rd and happily lift. If you want to willy wave you can tap to 4th and go miles. It must look like an airplane when that front lands at speed haha

Oh and I'm not putting more pics of this yet but here's the flying rsv4 from today. He was out with a few of his lot today while I went out with my regular group

Long term project, kind of finished (till the next stage), got the tank back today, after a new base brazed into it, and repainted / decals lacquered in.

Full set of Carbon fibre panels fitted. Sweet toy.

I like that, still needs the yellow seat, the previous owner to mine painted tiger strips on it, looked suitably mad.

Another example of Yamaha being ahead of the game, imagine them making one now with a MT07 based 500cc motor (with a supercharger!!).

I've got the yellow seat in the garage, and sacrificed a pink one ! to have this cover made. I was going to go Kenny Roberts speed blocks, but Tony Archer recommended against it, as when they are putting the material under tension, they get pulled out of line.

Got to go with an expert opinion !

No harm in sacrificing a pink seat - the later colours were a bit dull.

Fair comment about having speedblocks stitched in/deforming. Could someone screen print material used for a seat - thinking along the lines of banner type material.

Little excuse needed to post this, keep meaning to replicate it 25+ years later:

Weather st and wind dangerous but needed to get out to test my new screen, ugly as fook but from the short ride I have deduced it has completely transformed the bike. Cruising speeds are up and hard acceleration into big numbers no longer has my helmet shoved into my face witch makes my vision impaired .

Weather or not all this is a good thing is going to be a test of my luck but its staying on for now,

After 14yrs the old ZZR failed its first test under my ownership this morning, warped front discs. Nothing else for it, It failed me , it was time to say goodbye. Picked this up this afternoon. Different, but I am enjoying it loads.

A spot of garage reorganisation today....

Not done yet, but it's a start (and they're accidentally parked in displacement order, which pleased me when I realised it).

You have the best kind of biker pals

No one flying on ahead and making you feel slow
No one so slow you trip up over them in the corners
No one who always turns up 5 mins late and needs fuel
No one being shy at the coffee stop
No one fking off halfway through the ride and not telling anyone
etc etc

Ive seen much worse(aesthetically) looking screens , looks good that...No one likes a helmet shoved in their face without some sort of foreplay first either...

I quite like the looks but that pannier looks perilously close to the exhaust I would be worried about the heat on a spirited run so might be tempted to stick some heat reflective tape on the bottom
