Tomorrow is looking OK. If I'm up early I'll get out on it for an hour or two.

Washed my VFR ready to go to my dad. I wasn't planning on getting rid of it but when he offered to swap it for his fireblade I couldn't really say no. Looking forward to picking it up tomorrow!
So your really swapping it for an '06 blade then? jammy bastid, my dad let me buy his Hornet for half its retail value, I thought I was doing well biggrin

Yeah I still can't quite believe it myself! I said to him to keep hold of it as I want to buy it when I've got the money and he just came straight back with "I'll swap it for the VFR". Obviously it's hardly an even swap so I'm lucky I've got a generous dad!

Mine had a very slow speed drop on the right side, the previous owner was very open about that, so it has had some work on the right side fairing. There is a bit more orange peel on that fairing, mostly on the top of the fairing where your knees sit, but other than that you have to stare at it a long time to notice anything. I'd compare paint on both sides, on the original side fairing mine still has some orange peel, and on the tail section, both of which are the original paint. The metal parts are good but it seems the plastics get it a little.

It doesn't bother me as it's a 17 year old bike, I looked at a mint one owner bike but tbh I'd feel guilty using that through winter, it was absolutelu mint! You have to really look to notice anything on mine.

Thanks Tall_Paul those pics are really useful to see, as mentioned, this RC36 I'm potentially looking at looks to me like it's had a little bit of paint here and there but overall it seems to be much like yours in that there are some panels that look like they've had paint and some that I believe to be the original Honda finish which has slight orange peel.

As you say, it's not really an issue on an old bike and indeed my own RC36 is much worse in that there's barely any of the original paint on it, but the vendor keeps saying it's never been painted and is totally original which I don't quite believe.

Cheers for your time beer

Friday morning rush hour - Tyndrum to Dalmally. Beautiful weather and a great road.

Then on to Inveraray - Fortunately I managed to get parked OK.
Had many bikers pull in thinking you a copper? Bet you get a fair few stting a brick, if they spot you in the mirrors!
Not noticed anybody pull in and for somebody to spot me in their mirrors I would need to be going faster than them..... Which is not that likely.
The responses have been a bit mixed. Some very cautious people drop to 5mph below the speed limit which can be annoying in a 30 area.
I had a strange wave from another biker going the other way, after half a mile I passed a speed trap. I guess the biker was telling me to slow down and then thought he was waving to a bike cop.
Actually, it was a paramedic bike which I bought from the Ambulance service. The narrower panniers are ideal for the day trips that I do and the protector bar type things proved their worth when I dropped it in the garage.

"Healthy" breakfast at The Filling Station in Keswick.

That looks like a great destination for a ride out one Saturday morning, so put it in google maps to check location (my geography's not great). Its only 3 1/2 hours away, so ideal if i wanted to arrive starving.

The advert claims it's still an 1100cc bike. Tiny wheels and a short frame surely means that would be hilarious to try and pin the throttle on. The 125 that I did my CBT on seemed scary enough, I can't imagine that silly little thing being anyg better.

It's an old GS1100 so probably has the same power as your CBT 125....

I don't like it but I think its just a slightly modded R1100GS. Back of the frame has been shortened but looks like the wheelbase is standard

Early morning ride out to Stratford this morning to meet up with some mates for a Weatherspoons breakfast, bit cold first thing but the circular ride from Oxford via Burford and back via Woodstock was fantastic. Just over 115 miles, the Blade didn't miss a beat.

We're racing today. First one done, poor start pushed to 10th and ran there. Fast lot at this club, fitness is his only issue (He's in the flu kit)

And I just got a mate send me some pics from Nurburgring last week. Need to find the link as I'll have a few of them!

New bike day!

Had a good run back from Crewe, it's hard work at slow speed but get it going and it's so easy! Needs a good clean then a lot of riding!
