Not just cleaned but rebuilt and bench flow tested....twice...everything else is all set up as the book (YPVS, oil pump, throttle adj etc, new air filter, a new fuel tap, new fuel lines, tank is rust free), sometimes it will go as it should, and others (most of the time now) its "normal" to a certain point, always starts first /second kick, motor sounds great... but then goes flat as it should make power, its either fuel starvation or something electrical , almost feels like the power valves are not opening....I cant make my mind up which it may be now, possibly it has both issues...!

I can bimble around on it with no bother but after Sundays run out, it got really frustrating, its now off to be investigated by Krazy Kat dyno & then , hopefully, he will set it up straight after, hence removing the bodywork.

Im pretty sure its something simple but its beyond what I can diagnose/rectify now.

Gutted as on Saturday I was hoping to take it to the RD500 meet in Stratford upon Avon but I dont want to risk causing it some serious damage..
If it's anything like the 350 YPVS it should do a cycle of the PVs when you flick the ignition on I believe this can be a giveaway sometimes? Have you asked on RDLC Crazy?

Just lock the bds open and see if the problem goes away

Something simple like blocked breather in the tank? Not sure if same as RG500, didn't breath thru the cap but a separate pipe within the tank which can be connected wrong (gets mixed up with overflow pipe).

If the tank couldn't breathe I'd expect it to just run dry and die. It sounds like its got an intermittent but increasing problem with something affecting the top end which could easily be the YPVS servo on its way out. I would try locking the PVs open and see if it pulls hard again.

New bike taken into work... and no rain!
They are some seriously sticky tyres ;-)
This is so typical of the poor provision employers and councils make for motorcycle parking!

The old Italian girl awaiting collection to go get mot'd oil and filter as well as a general check over. Also take a look see if the mouse that used it as storage chewed any wires.

Very nice indeed, some great roads.

We're having a bit of change this year so Hannover, Berlin, auschwitz, Prague, Black Forest and home.

Still think Yamaha are missing a trick by not making a proper MT-10 Fazer or Tracer.

But then again BMW make the XR version of the S1000R and the naked seems to outsell it.

Have a good trip, want to do the same with the S1000R soon.

I'm pretty sure a Mt10 tracer or GT will be out by the end of this year, Heard a few rumours!
