Didn't see Pegasus this year, but it was running last year.... got to say it was immaculate, amazing to think these bikes were built in sheds up and down the country often by one man with very little cash... btw there's a great site called Acceleration Archive that's worth checking out if your into old drag bikes, along with a book called 'Drag Bike Racing in Britain from the mid 60's to the mid 80's'' by Veloce Books, ot mine from Amazon..

That is a heck of a piece of engineering..

Today was a good day... Spent the day riding around the hills of north Majorca on a Moto Guzzi V7 Racer. Gorgeous scenery and roads. I only took a handful of pictures, here's a few of them.

Id say that was an exceedingly good day...IIRC the roads are quite slippery out there?

end of a quick tour of Northern Ireland, have to go back and do more of the west coast, the north coast is epic and the west is supposed to be better still.

I nearly dropped the bike about 50 yards from the rental company. Leant into a roundabout thinking I was on my Speed Triple and the front very nearly went... The foot went down etc. It knocked my confidence for a good hour or so, but I soon learnt the Guzzi was best enjoyed cruising rather than going fast.

The route I took was Alcudia - Port d Pollenca - Cap Formentor - Pollenca - Sóller (on the Ma-10), then back to Alcudia. The Ma-10 was such a lovely road... 50km of mountain scenery and corner after corner. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

FB reminded me of a rideout last year. Just brilliant machines that are 'scary fast' and 'life affirming'. The latest machines may be faster around a track, but these 2 are just mega in the way they deliver their power.

Both amazing bikes. If I had to choose one, I'd be hard pushed but I think I'd take the mv... Just

As we are giving our CBR600RR race bike its annual off season rebuild, I helped a Emarati rider with his off season testing last Friday night at Yas Marina. He has just had the suspension rebuilt so he wanted to test the new settings. To say it was hot and humid would be an understatement. His bike is ~15kg and ~210hp, carbon BST wheels, auto-blipper etc.

Don't blame you. Al's F4 is a stunning machine, and it has also had a significant amount of work done to it that separates it from the usual MVs.

A mate in the 80's had one with a 3 into 1 - performance was pants but the noise was superb

They are a lovely bike, but I find the one I ride from time to time very vibey at low speed to the point my hands start to go numb

Mine has a heavy vibe at 1500-2000rpm but apparently "they all do that, sir". Haven't noticed it as a problem when riding. I guess the furthest I've ridden it at one hit is about 120 miles.

@B'Stard Child - agree, the performance by modern standards isn't going to rip up any tarmac, but even on standard pipes the cackle from the exhaust was the final selling point for me!

I don't really know what it is but it just gets under my skin, this one. Bought it because I'd always wanted one, thinking, well, I won't lose much if I sell it on, but that's not happening any time soon, I just really like it.

That's not what I meant - I meant that he had a piper 3-1 expansion chamber on it - the performance with that fitted was way worse than std 4 pipes and way worse than a 3 x individual expansion set up but the noise was remarkable

I mean seriously a single expansion chamber on a 3 pot two stroke was never going to work but it made a very unusual sound
