Well I was rescued by my fiancé.

Turns out it had run out of petrol....despite showing the full 4 bars on the reserve tank

laugh I shouldn't laugh I know, sorry.
Unlucky. We've all been there (or at least I have).

I travel in from North Kent, leaving at about 5am to get to the office in Paddington for 6. I normally see a good half a dozen or more bikes even at this time of year.
Going in later definitely gets busier and with more scooters and cyclists taking up filtering space.
Ouch - I thought I was being pretty keen doing a not dissimilar journey, from around the M25-A2 junction to near Russell Square. Getting up another hour earlier would likely lead to domestic disharmony, even if I was sure I could face it.

This evening's highlight was someone hooning around the Tower Bridge area on one of those old 6-cylinder Kwaks with the big square headlight (K1300?)….and a pair of open slash-cut pipes. Certainly stood out aurally from the crowd!

Bit blustery this morning, fairly light traffic.

I think tomorrow morning will be an interesting one - early forecasts showing 52mph gusts.

Indeed - not sure what I was thinking! I can't even say the K and the Z are next to each other on the keyboard….

Couple of interesting commutes for me.

Yesterday evening the whole of Catford was static after a fiat hit a stationary bus and a lorry hit another car on the 1 way system - gridlock...

Leaving today I managed to drop my bike, thankfully I could lower it to the floor. Note to self, take your disc lock off before trying to ride away....

I've walked past a BMW a few times before I noticed some '6' badge on it? That's a K1600?

There is a K1600, yes. I took my RT in for service today and the dealer had a few in the showroom.

Dodging 4,000 dead Christmas trees that had been blown all over the road on my commute.

Highlight today strangely empty road, very light traffic. Did people panic and decide not to travel?
We had very strong winds last night and early this morning but had all stopped by around 8am when I left home.

Back on the bike today after seeing the ice yesterday morning and jumping on the train.

Was a bit windy at 7am when I left, but nice smooth ride in and again on the way home.

Saw a few bikes out today, mainly scooters and 125's tho. Looks like most of the big bikes are still tucked away.

Going in at 5am was a bit white-knuckle at times.
Nice little bit of filter-blocking on the way home by a Politeman in his hiviz, wobbling along on his battered Pan-Euro, revving the nuts off it to persuade cars to make a bit more filtering space, and then shaking his head as he squeezed through a gap big enough for a sodding bus.

I suppose this morning's highlight is gonna have to be me sliding on my ass down the street in the ice!

That very nearly happened to me too: water apparently draining off a field turned a 30 yard stretch of road into 4 inch deep slush. Luckily a car coming the opposite direction flashed to warn me, so I had just enough time to brake & get the bike upright. Cheeks were clenched & I needed to check for skid marks when I reached the office toilets.....
