So my normal route takes me over London Bridge, do you think it'll be open come the morning or would it be best to go over Southwark/tower bridges?

Latest advice is avoid at all costs. No trains stopping there and roads closed.

Plus this:
Lower Thames Street has been closed in both directions between Great Tower Street and Southwark Bridge. Blackfriars Underpass is closed eastbound and traffic diverted to New Bridge Street.

It's going to be mayhem tomorrow.

Well i'll echo that - nightmare getting in, London Bridge closed so had to use Tower after a turn-back at the Southwark Street junction.

Then they seem top be doing building work everywhere, no right turns (London Wall - Moorgate North), roads closed after you've turned down them without signing that they are (Moor Lane)....bloody nightmare!

Had a good run in from Beckenham - Lewisham with a white ZX-10R which was good, shame about the CBR125R that was doing it's upmost to follow and being hugely dangerous doing so!

Southwark Bridge Road and Southark Bridge open this morning but all very quiet,
Rode past all the TV companies and reporters just at the bottom of Southwark street.
Even Lower Thames Street very quiet too.

Was surprised to see the Blackfriars underpass and Lower Thames open this morning. Slow but moving when I came through.

Things had got very busy heading west into town standard post half term chaos traffic wise on the highway to tower bridge itself which unsuprisingly was seriously busier than ever this morning.
Lower Thames Street heading west after the tower bridge junction absolutely empty compared to normal - I still question the traffic light timings at the tower bridge crossroads irrespective of the weekends events and closures.
Came over Southwalk bridge North to South which was the standard empty lane so my highlight (Snap Mitzy) waiting to turn right by all the TV crews at the junction of Southwalk bridge road and Southwalk street which is the western edge of the london bridge cordon. Had been watching Charlie on BBC Breakfast reporting from there about 30mins earlier on the TV.

My highlight was doing my normal 1hr+ commute in 45 mins and that included a visit to the village shop after I left home! Absolutely zero traffic anywhere.
Half term I guess and a Friday smile I'm at working at home today and my office is dead apparently - quicker if slightly less exciting than normal commute for me today.
Bizarrely, same again this morning. Usual route (M20/A20/Kidbrooke/Blackwall/Commercial Rd) and the traffic was about 30% of normal levels. I actually expected it to be worse with people avoiding trains into London Bridge but I just breezed in Even the Blackwall traffic didn't start until well past the Greenwich slip. Not complaining tho!

Forgot to post a thurday highlight for me

Going over Southwark Bridge and a bit of slow moving traffic , a guy on a Triumph behind me , was all set to pull out and pass traffic and he jumps past me at 100 leptons ..... wotever I mutter in my helmet.
Traffic lights other side of the Bridge are on so I sit behind him, he then turns right , straight into the cycle lane and has try and get out

Oh how I chuckled in my helmet :-)

That will be a summer special blast it in a straight line biker - clearly doesn't know the road layout or have the ability to read it!
I ride a Triumph but I go in the opposite direction to you over Southwalk bridge each day as I come from Canary Wharf - I get the st single lane part up to Tower Hill coming home.

It's funny when that happens - this morning 3 cars went into the cycle lane (front one mistake and the others just blindly following). In the mirror I lip read the lead guy saying "Oh, st!" to himself before driving over the reservation.
Then just makes you angry thinking AGAIN about how ridiculously oversized that cycle path is, compared to the zero room left for us bikers to do anything at all.

Lots and lots of rain, no problem. The wind though - blimey.

Everyone seems to forget to check mirrors, blind spots and generally forget how to drive a car in this weather. sigh.

Wet crotch and wet feet...must get better wet weather gear....

I am also completely baffled why you buy a GS / Tiger / big Harley / whatever, with huge panniers and then use it for commuting, but you are so wide you can't filter......I just don't understand the logic.

115 miles this morning - wet and windy but arrived completely dry with the exception of my gloves which are soaked through. Again.

Since Gore-Tex isn't working (two different pairs of Gore-Tex gloves have done the same) I guess some kind of over glove would be a good idea for downpours like this?

If gore-tex isn't working, you've bad gloves. Return them, gore-tex is guaranteed.

I've some held racetex gloves, never leaked once, and I've ridden them through 2 winters.

Please accept my apologies, this summer-ending weather is entirely my fault - I bought a pair of BMW lightweight mesh summer boots last Friday and doubled down by ordering a mesh jacket
