Situation saved - seems my bag spilled it’s contents at work...my waterproofs weren’t lost to the locals of S London after all

A bit nippy when I set off, but pretty uneventful.

Allegedly it is supposed to warm up for the weekend, I have yet to see any evidence of this. smile

Oh I had fun on the way home last night. Sat in a straight single-file line of bikes all queued between traffic at some lights. Nowhere for anyone to go, but the twonk behind me kept bouncing his Gixxer off the limiter with a VERY noisy pipe. Irritating but that's all. So far.

However, when we set off, he cut right across the front of me, really hard. Evasive action required on my part. I'd not seen him before this.

I chased him down to the next lights and gave him a massive bking, after which he pulled away in front of me and proceeded to do the "tyre warmer swerve" across two full lanes so that neither I nor anyone else could get past. Then he would sit up, both hands off the bars, and slow down, but if I tried to pass him, he went back into the swerve.

Sadly, he was too busy being clever-bks to notice the fully marked-up plod X5 in the traffic ahead. They rolled their window down and asked me what was going on. I told them. Blue lights on and they were off after him. He shot up a little side street but they saw that, and as I passed they were alongside him "having a chat" hehe

Why are there bellends like this? They give motorcycling a bad name. I'm certainly no angel, but there are limits.

I do wonder sometimes. We're all more vulnerable than most motorists, the least we can do is not put each other on offer.

If I were to get all philosophical for a moment, I guess it's just a microcosm of society in general.

Potentially-nasty crash last night at Poplar where you drop down to the Blackwall. Loads of kitty litter all over the road, plod sat observing, and there was a bike on its side in the railings. They hadn't even bothered to pick it up. No sign of the biker. Could only see the underside of the bike but it had fluo wheels, so maybe an MT of some sort. Hope the chap/chapess isOK.

there was one in Cheshire this morning at a notorious junction.

bike on its side, not that big, male plod struggled to pick it so had to get help, then couldn't wheel it, didn't know how to depress the clutch or put in neutral, so put it back on the road and then dragged it, with helpful bystanders, the full width of the carriage way to put it on the verge.
So if it wasn't fked thanks to the car driver pulling out and causing the accident, it is now because Cheshire plod dragged it across the road on its side.

female plod just stood and joked with car driver

didn't switch it off of ignition still live as lights were still on, obviously no one teaches accident scene management anymore

Rear ended on the way back from work this evening, van driver, obviously distracted rolls forward into me at <2mph, thankfully not on the brake and I’d left a big enough gap.

A turn as if WTF, a wave of apology from the driver and I carried on...

Think I’ve got a slow puncture though (have been dropping 20psi a week), topping it up every few days but really need to get it plugged at some point

Agree with Dakkon .. M4 was carnage in the spray and the amount of diesel from the M4/A4 junction into Paddo was ridiculous ..... purple puddles everywhere !!!!!

Just spray for me this morning so wore my non-waterproof trousers.

The jacket did a good job on my top half, but the water ran off...onto my crotch. Only now are my balls beginning to dry, 5 hours later, and I didn’t have any spare boxers in my desk draw :/

Nice and wet this morning textiles hanging up with some mild heat near them so that they are hopefully only slightly damp when I go home, but found out he collar on my new Richa jacket isn't as high at the back as the old one so had a bit of leakage. Any ideas for an aftermarket storm collar?

New rear tyre and fresh MOT on my 390 Duke on Friday, so typically this morning its battery was flat and it wouldn't start. Must have a drain somewhere - investigation tonight. It fried a rectifier/regulator this time last year when I broke out my electric vest after it turned a bit chilly but I thought I'd fixed the electrical leakage - it looks like the saga will be ongoing.

I've hardly used it this year - an old Honda 400/4 was doing the commuting but I don't really want to get that wet....

So pull out the emergency back up motorcycle:

It's had a little dribble at the excitement of being a front line commuting steed as you can see...
