Dropped it doing a u-turn in a car parking space on a hill. Misjudged the steepness, put my foot down and the floor wasn't there. Few small scratches but otherwise ok. Hugely helpful guy stopped to help me pick it up. 1190s are bloody heavy when on a hill and wheels are higher than the bars.

Other than that it was a nice ride in.
That sucks, scratches add character i'd say.
Or just add one more excuse for a new bike ;-)
I've only just got this one... d'oh.

On closer inspection at lunch I've scratched a couple of the non-painted panels which I'll leave for now but can be replaced if I can be bothered. I've smashed a handguard which meant that I didn't break the brake lever so it's all perfectly rideable. Ordered some new handguards and will fix these with cable ties for this week.

Could have been worse.
Cable ties ?? you run out of gaffer tape ??

Ha. Can't help feel that a handguard held together with tape is a trapped brake lever waiting to happen.

10 degrees almost felt warm!

Another week or so and the tinted visor will be back on I think.

Used the bike this morning! Actually used it!

I passed someone on the left because he refused to pull over and he started flashing me. Then he decided that he was going to speed up and tailgate me.

I literally don't understand.

I take it back, tape was fine.

Left it in the garage today as both arms ache, hand hurts and leg's swollen from hitting the frame. fksticks.

Knew it wouldn't need advanced cable tie skills ......

Get well mate ....

Highlight today was riding in at 1.30 pm and no bugger on the road, was very pleasant ....

Foggy and surprisingly cold this morning! I realised i do not even use my heated grips. Pointless having them on there. Even in minus numbers i don't put them on. 3 season glove with muffs is find down to -5 I would say.

Commute started off OK but then the temps plummeted to 3 degrees about 10 miles from the office. Cor felt that.

Only had to avoid one lane changer this morning

Little chilly this morning....

Highlight was a skip lorry smashing its side/mirror against a tree/pole on the side of the road while squeezing past another lorry, while still doing ~25mph.

Thankfully the debris from the mirror/cab fell onto the pavement and I was far back enough to avoid the glass!

Had to thump the side of a van which twice closed the gap on me while I was trying to filter past this morning. Once I can allow. Twice he's either doing it on purpose or he's on the fking phone, like the the other nob a couple of nights ago on the way home who used 1.5 lanes in order to check his fking Facebook likes.

On a different note, I heard that someone had their bike nicked from the little side street where I park earlier this week. Got the info second-hand so I don't know what the bike was. Still hoping the Rt is too big/too heavy/too boring for them to want it.

Unexpected plod with a handheld device out today. Was only cruising along and didn't get pulled so hoping I'll be ok, but you never know.

Very chilly this morning but looks lovely out there now, hoping the ride home tonight will be a bit warmer.

Thick fog 2 miles into the ride this morning.
Visor steamed up, glasses steamed up so had to pull them to end of my nose haha.
Just about made it one piece after a taxi pulled out on me.

Zipper pull came off my alpinestars jacket and turns out there's a little mechanism in there that doesn't allow the zip to go down, only up banghead

Thankfully it's less than two years old and under warranty, added bonus that I scanned the receipt so have that too. Need to figure out what I'll wear instead now while mine goes off for repair/replacement.

not so much a week of commuting highlights...

watched a chap on a T max ride straight off the lights and into the thick concrete raised kerb of one of those segregated bike lines (just past Oval tube). To be fair the tarmac is blue painted but the dividing kerb is grey and on a murky morning..well

hope he was OK but suspect must have had as a minimum badly bruised conkers as the thing reared up like a bucking bronco when he hit the kerb and it was an impressive feat that he stayed on

useful reminder that there are so many raised kerbs and odd bits of widened pavement springing up, deliberate plan to put people off driving, but can catch the unwary biker out...

oh yes, then on the way home nearly got kebabed by a bus and an uber at E&Castle who had so obviously gone through a red

followed by finding a puncture on my front wheel when I came to ride home the following day

the joy of commuting! stay safe all

Rode in early doors to my other office in Canary Wharf, quite nice and could have done it without the thermal liners, bit less traffic as 1/2 term I think, I was sat at my desk by 7.30 which means I won't feel guilty leaving at 4pm to beat the traffic back. Uneventful except for the A3 driver acting a prat on the North Circular by weaving in and out of traffic and flashing anyone who dared get in his way at 6am
