R1 stolen in broad daylight
Discussion
You need to fight fire with fire sadly.
If there's 3-4 of them. Then you need 3-4 of you with large meat cleavers. (and helmets to stop being ID'd by some inevitable fking idiot who will defend the crims)
Chop to their legs will stop them If you can decapitate them, all the better. Then disappear before the Police turn up.
Might end up stopping a lot of related thefts and/or find some stolen bikes.
EDIT TO ADD
Someone a while ago told me that once cars get past 3-5 years old they are less worthy to be stolen. That the real money is in new stuff. Does this apply to bikes?
A new R1 is £15,5.
A 2010,5 year old one is around 6.
Lets guess at £23K "resale" Is it worth it to thieves?

My Street Triple was 5 years old and the s were still trying to steal it.
After the last attempt that did various bits of damage costing me £500, some bloody car driver hit it whilst parked, a day after getting it back.
I gave up then as it had to be transported back to dealer. I just said give me some money for it, I've had enough.

Bullst that you'd do even half of what you're claiming. Meat cleavers. Hahahahaha don't make me laughIf there's 3-4 of them. Then you need 3-4 of you with large meat cleavers. (and helmets to stop being ID'd by some inevitable fking idiot who will defend the crims)

I didn't say I would. Just that if they lost use of one of their legs it might mean they would stop stealing bikes and also the Police would be able to identify the other members of this little operation.
I suppose you would suggest writing them a stern letter...
Thought this video was worthy of a watch as it highlights the issues in London.

New machines were taken last week from this famous motorcycle shop by one of many scooter gangs operating at present in the capital.
The shop established for over 60 years reported that it had not seen anything like this before and it sadly highlights the relentless methods used today by these new two wheeled crime gangs when they gather to rob, burgle and steal.
Already likened to a swarm of locusts, these mainly young men worryingly appear to enjoy their exploits as they parade around the cities of the UK violently threatening anyone getting in their way.
In Bristol for instance frustration has reached breaking point at the ‘inability’ of police to stop a notorious gang of 16 motorbike thieves who continue to share evidence of their exploits on social media and boast about their crimes mainly on Instagram.
A picture on a social media site shows a gang member wearing a 'Gucci' watch stating 'this is what your motorcycle got me' is obviously infuriating victims who estimate at least half a million pounds worth of motorbikes have been stolen by the gang since last summer alone all with photos and videos shared on an Instagram account set up by the thieves.
A letter has now been written to the chief constable of Avon and Somerset police, Andy Marsh, by a victim complaining about the ‘inaction’ of the force despite giving them dozens of tip-offs.
The letter stated: “We want to see a specialist unit formed, as you would with any other major crime like this, for the duration of the time it takes to arrest these criminals and give them rightful punishments.
I might suggest no one holds their breath waiting for this to happen but it does warn that the next step could be vigilantes taking the law into their own hands due to the frustration and lack of police action. A war on the streets is not what we want at anytime let alone now!

I run one of these. Means I don't need to carry something in my pocket and as you know there's no space in the Aprilia boot. It's not cheap but very high quality. If you undo the bolts or cut it off it still stays on the disc due to its design. Company are called roadlok
Not sure I'd fancy having the bolt accidentaly "pop" into the front disc at 80mph !!

How does that work then?

It'd do well to jump out of your pocket, into the slot and then pop into the front disc Not sure I'd fancy having the bolt accidentaly "pop" into the front disc at 80mph !!
Apologies - I stand corrected, it removes completely , i thought it was fixed.....

I especially like the lifetime warranty and this:If you undo the bolts or cut it off it still stays on the disc due to its design. Company are called roadlok

if forgotten in the locked position. Just imagine trying to ride off with your front brake lever pulled tightly...your bike will just stall.
