My brother had this one for about 18 months. It had a genuine 9500 miles

It was nice but as already said a few times it had 'old school' things about it

If it were my money I'd have a 675 every day of the week (And I have always been into italian bikes)

Other bike is an MV Dragster 800 RR

Considered one instead of my Monster, but everyone I saw had some sort of quality issue. May pick one up when someone else has sorted the niggles and MV are sure to survive wink

Is there any reason you have discounted other Super Sport 600's?

Yep as TommyBuoy said thats my old bike a Dragster RR. Great bike to be fair. I clocked up 9850 miles in 18 months, did 3 track days, IOM TT and Ramsey Sprint as well as alot of 150+ mile weekend blasts

It did have a few niggles but nothing bad. I think alot of the issues are from people that ride them once a month and store them in the garage for 4 months in winter

I only changed it as the bike looked battered from stones and I wanted something quicker

I'm currently looking at 954 'blades, maybe an option?

yeah-yeah, I am famous hehe

in any case, 954 is very light and is a very quick steer, comfortable as well and looks butch.

Since I have both 954RR and 2014 Daytona 675 I can compare back-to-back and for me it is easier to ride fast in corners on a 954, somehow it is more confidence-inspiring, maybe because it has lower seat height, so closer to the ground. smile

Any update on your decision?

I have just put a deposit down on a 749S. Was considering upping my budget to get an 848 evo that came up locally with only 3200 miles, is £7500.

Was struggling to decide then a 749S came up with 10k miles FSH for £3790. So phoned up and deposit down straight away, should get it next week!

No update a yet, other than the bonus I (and everyone else I work with) was expecting in April has now been pushed back to May (we hope!).
Heart says Ducati, Head says Triumph. I'm edging towards the 749s if I'm honest If I wanted sensible I'd have bought a Deauville tongue out . Once I have the money I'll have a test ride on each and see what the best I can get for my money is. I promise I'll check back in when I've got something!

What are the high miles 749s like? There's on on EBay that looks very clean but has 25k miles.

The term "high miler" and "25k" should never be together. If 25k is high mileage people aren't riding enough.

My 749 was on 21k when I bought it. It was brilliant.

Thereby proving nothing.
