Just been out for a drive, about 15 miles normal town and country roads on a Sunday.
so in this time today ive seen a biker wheelie from a traffic light, a biker over take on double white lines and a few lots doing doing 50+ in a 30 mph zone.
And they wonder why they get a bad rep.

He just allegedly went to jail for something not very nice and the internet reckons someone is posting, pretending to be him. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxdv9-Fx8ryu08s2b...

And while you're at it get your fking exhaust fixed.
What's wrong with them? They're made of titanium and rather lovely in my opinion! It's the dB level that causes offence. And I know it's part of the 'look at me, I'm a hooligan and a rebel, so I have a noisy exhaust' but dear god it gives bikers an even worse rep. (And for the record, I've never liked noisy exhausts on cars either, it just makes the drivers look antisocial and a bit council)

Like speed cameras ad heavy handed speed enforcement? Keep riding or driving like tt.
And how does a noisy exhaust affect out densely populated Island, Tractor Boy?
Far more damage caused by mud on road, unlit farm trailers. How about all the uninsured and untaxed farm vehicles driven by unlicensed drivers during harvest season?
OP is moaning about wheelies, (what's the harm?), and speeding at 50mph which is fair enough to moan about. But after market exhausts hurt pretty much no one, so I'm keeping mine.

It's not the superbike lot I worry about. They're generally competent riders, with obvious expections.
It's the BMW 1200 GS brigade that piss me off. A bunch of 50 something chartered accountants who've been biking for 5 minutes and think they're a hard core Enduro rider who owns the road.
By far most of the knobbish, ridiculous riding, aside from 17 year olds on 125's who think they're Valentino Rossi, is perpetrated by this lot where I live.

Really? Most GS riders I've met tend to be very experienced, down to earth ex sports bike riders.Gunk said:

There doesn't seem to be any evidence of that, other than a couple of reddit threads with posters saying it's true. The only thing remaining appears to be an article from the local paper where he lives/lived; https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&s...
Who knows eh?

Yes. While partaking of a well earned, post lawn cutting beverage, my earholes were assaulted by bikers tearing up the highways. Lots of straights and bends, they think it's the IOM TT.so in this time today ive seen a biker wheelie from a traffic light, a biker over take on double white lines and a few lots doing doing 50+ in a 30 mph zone.

Let's all have fun, but please, slow down a bit.

Sitting in the garden on a summers evening, what better than to hear someone giving their machine some stick through the gears (whether it be bike or car). It's the sound of someone having fun, not sitting at home moaning about some noise which in the grand scheme of things makes no difference to your every day life. Let's all have fun, but please, slow down a bit.
I live on the coast and quite often on a summers evening you will hear a P1 powerboat or similar go past full chat, a monotone drone which is much worse than a bike or car but it still sounds great as someone out there is enjoying themselves.

Really? Most GS riders I've met tend to be very experienced, down to earth ex sports bike riders.I have always been tolerent of bikers, double checking at junctions, pulling in to the edge to give them space, and will continue to do so, each to their own to enjoy their chosen poison. However went on a car run a couple of weekends ago, about a dozen MG F/TF drivers and some of the riding standards was simply terrible. Riders coming towards you on the wrong side of the road on a blind bend, riders that turned left from the right hand lane at a roundabout, cutting across traffic that was correctly going straight on from the left hand lane, and bikers that thought they were more important and overtook a line of traffic that was pulling around a temporary red light at road works, clearly they had no where to go but kept coming anyway. We had to detour as a biker had been killed, ironically as it turned out it was another biker on the wrong side of the road that hit him headlong. On the same day one of our members had to offer assistance to a biker that had binned it as he had run out of talent, gone through a hedge and broke his leg. Two of the guys in our convoy admitted they were embarrassed to be bikers that day. Yes I get that there are the minority in all walks of life that bring that demographic into disrepute, but that day was like nothing else i have ever seen.
Lets all stay safe, enjoy our chosen mode of transport, and all show respect to each other.
Rant over...
