What does it mean to you?

I can't think of a single definition for this phrase that doesn't mark anybody that uses it as a wker, yet it seems to be used often, even on here.

Doesn't mean anything to me, but I wish it meant they'd fill the bloody pot-holes in quicker than they currently do. Roads are awful at the moment !

It's what I wish they'd do to the Sandy Lane junction in Newcastle.

There is no reference for it, purely an individuals self-awareness of their own speed.
In summary it's bks.
Most men aren't going to claim they are slow, too many egos about.

I'm definitely slow, three bike blasted bast me on Sunday taking horrific risks, overtaking on blind bends and double white lines, I do like to press on, but I also like to get home in one piece back to my lovely family.

Ive seen it used by brake pad manufacturers, I've always assumed it to mean making a bit of progress, the middle ground between pottering on the road and track riding/racing.

I'm slow, I went out with my wife the other day so took it a lot slower than I would normally, surprisingly enjoyed it more than usual too! The road surface, traffic, etc just doesn't invite me to go fast anymore...

Might be time to swap the Blackbird for an adventure bike!

Certainly helps to sell things to people who like to think they are fast.

I'm sure you're right! That goes for a vast array of 'performance' parts.

Absolutely.
How many riders will be on Pirelli SuperCorsas on the road when they would get more performance for them from a set of T30s or PR4s because they don't go fast enough to get the heat into the tyre?

Reminds me of 3mm off the exhaust port instead of 2mm...biggrin

Thinking about it the engine in my car was an off the shelf 'fast road' build. Car goes in, original engine is removed and replacement put in. No doubt my original engine later went in someone else's car. Maybe they got a 'track build'?

I rather like the type of wker , also on here , who tells another rider/poster unknown to them , how a certain type of tyre that they ( rider/poster/ unknown) use, "tells them all they need to know about what type of rider they are ..."
( in essence , st , and not fit to breathe the same air as
the self-appointed God belittling them ...)

They too do extremely fast road work and are sometimes very fast road riders , they know everything about the relative compounds of track tyres used on road 'cos they just beast the heat into them and get them oiling and blueing on a ride to the shop for the milk.......
They amuse me , considerably , and always tend to have a reason why the guy on the adventure/ cruiser/ tourer on mossy green knobbly square block tyres disappears on them to/ from their local bike meets, is either crazy / John McGuinness/ local specialist whenever they get found out ...

As we all often do !

Indeed. I run SuperCorsas and I do really like them, its the OE tyre for the bike. I do like the feedback when leant over and find they grip well but I've never run this bike on anything else so i've no idea if the tyre is the defining feature or just the bike itself. I ran M7RRs on my RSV4 though and was really impressed with those too, perfectly adequate for the road. I'm actually tempted by a slighter harder tyre for my ride to the TT as 200+ miles on the motorway will destroy the centre of a SC.

You really are an epic cock aren't you. You sit there doing exactly what you purport to hate - making assumptions on others riding that you don't know. Exactly as the person was doing who was popping at me for recommending an S1000RR over an 848 to someone I DO know and have ridden with who was asking a question (maybe re-read the thread as to why I took the bait).

You seem obsessed with belittling other people's pace that YOU don't know.

So DO fk off with your st stirring hypocritical sniping.

Any road user implying or discussing 'fast road work' to me signals a rider suffering tunnel vision, questionable levels of motorcycle and road risk management whilst compromising their own life (which is fine by me if i'm honest as I tend to subscribe to Darwin's theory) and potentially an innocent road user/s (far from not fine).

Hahaha - did you spot something you recognised - I've never deified myself , that base has been extremely well taken care of already - keep up the good work , that was fast work indeed !

There's a North-South divide growing in here, I don't know what the answer is to stop it but I wish it would stop.

There´s a big divide opening up all over Europe too (dare I say globally?), a real polarisation....
