CBR600F of the same era similarly smashes the nosecone if you drop it.

I thought the linked brakes weren't a bad idea. Loads of people under utilise rear brakes. So Honda theorised, rather than upgrading the front brakes to improve stopping, you can allow most people to make better use of the existing rear one. The problem is we all believe we know better so don't want it.

I mean "we" literally, I don't want it. I still have mixed feelings about ABS on motorcyles, but I don't combined braking is a bad idea per se. Same for ABS.
The indicator punching through the fairing is a thing I’ve seen on a few bikes, my GPZ included!

On linked brakes, I owned a VFR1200 for three years and have ridden blackbirds, I’ve really never felt it was an issue. On the VFR I can’t think of any time I really noticed them , even though it was ridden far and fast.

Apologies if this has already bean asked:
I’ve been riding for a couple of weeks now, and I’m unsure what the etiquette with parking is.
I’m leaving the bike in marked bays in supermarkets but notice that a lot of other riders leave their bike in hatched areas or right by the front door.
What’s everyone’s opinion on parking?

If there’s a bike parking bay (and it’s in a sensible place) I’ll park in it, if there’s not I’ll usually park somewhere in front of the store that’s on the pedestrian bit, but out of the way.

I don’t like parking in car spaces because supermarkets seem to be a prime area for distracted drivers hitting things in spaces that they don’t expect to be there.

Same here, I also think that if it's busy you're doing the car drivers a favour by leaving another space free.

Where ever is easiest for me. Either outside the shop, pick up pay, parking space or loading bay (local Tesco doesn’t use the loading bay for deliveries anymore).

50 thousand mile Ducati 900ss (2001) , Sensible buy? ( i know diddly squat about Ducatis)
You've answered yourself really, so no it's not a sensible buy. If you knew a little then there's nothing fundamentally wrong with them but knowing "diddly squat" then the higher maintenance would be a bug bear....or be neglected at a future cost.
So ive got a bid on it...
Find out July 19th if i own it..

Weirdo, half the fun is a one-way train ticket with all your clobber.

The QS fixing back to the gear shift lever must have wound it’s way out during yesterdays ride and the main body of the QS has gouged away at the frame damaging it.

Going to call the dealer on Tuesday when they next open and speak to them about it. But I’m unsure as to what is a fair and reasonable outcome?

Bike is a 2022 Tuono and had its first service carried out approx 500 miles previously.

Pah - that's nowhere near as much fun as taking all your clobber through security for a one-way flight!

I asked the same recently and I've been riding for years.

The replies suggested that no one's quite sure what the rules are laugh

I find that if you go through life acting like the rules don’t apply to you quite often you’ll find that they actually don’t!

My main concern is keeping the bike safe, in any large car park that means keeping it as far away from other vehicles as possible!
If that means parking somewhere I probably shouldn’t then I’m just fine with that.

My main concern being considerate to others. That doesn't exclude parking in ways that reduces the risk to my bike. If you are considerate then often parking in "the wrong place" will be accepted and understood.
