Damn. Thanks for the advice. I'll just get some proper motorbike boots with ankle support in that case.
Thanks all
Have a look on ebay, you get loads of gear hardly worn for sale. Thanks all
I got an admittedly, older pair of Daytona goretex boots, delivered for £30. Great protection and waterproof. Spend the £60-70 you save on other shoes you want

My sons tank stickers keep coming off. What's the best way to stick'em back on? Obviously nothing too strong.
Thanks.
How about sticking adhesive film over the stickers: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tiger-QUALITY-CLEAR-STICK...Thanks.
You could paint a tiny amount of glue to the back of the sticker also.
Now my dumb question: Autumn is upon us & temperature is up & down like a yoyo. This has the effect of my tyre pressures being all over the place. They should be 36/42 PSI when cold - last weekend the front had dropped to 32 & the rear 41. Is this about normal??

So tell me about biker parking... what can you get away with that those with four wheels can't?
e.g. parking between parked cars, paying or not paying in a pay and display etc etc.
Any tales of ticket woes?
you need one of these https://www.jtsbikerclothing.com/motorcycle_clothi... for p and display tickets, DONT park in a cycle area..e.g. parking between parked cars, paying or not paying in a pay and display etc etc.

Would this be an appropriate place to ask for riding tips?
New biker having passed 2 months ago and i'm still nervous when it comes to making progress past cars. Not necessarily filtering but just going for gaps in traffic Myself/The Bike are capable of, but not comfortable doing. The obvious answer is practice/experience but seeking some wise words & advice also.

Boring answer from me, as you say practise and experience. New biker having passed 2 months ago and i'm still nervous when it comes to making progress past cars. Don't go for anything you aren't comfortable with, that's when you'll hesitate and panic, and that's when you'll end up making contact.

If you want to accelerate your learning go and get some advanced training, its very low cost and training stays with you forever. The training will involve rides out, practice, observations, more practice etc. Overtaking safely and making progress is a key part of what the groups like IAM and RoSPA teach.New biker having passed 2 months ago and i'm still nervous when it comes to making progress past cars. You could also read the Police Motorcycle Roadcraft book.
You cant rush things, it takes time and is always good to err on the side of caution....

I dont live in or visit the city so my experience may differ, but i have never paid for motorcycle parking and have never been fined. e.g. parking between parked cars, paying or not paying in a pay and display etc etc.

For pay and displays I always try to find one with dedicated motorcycle parking (i find that most places do have them) or if not i find a large pavement section and leave it there, just making sure there is still plenty of space for people to get past.
Also if I am going to larger places (like Cambridge), I google motorcycle parking before i go. In the case of Cambridge, one of the large central multi stories actually has a free motorcycle area.
My main rules are, if its a pay and display, dont take up a car space, if you are leaving it on the pavement, just use common sense and keep it out of the way
