Right so next little adventure and only 4 weeks away!

Who's going and what dates? What bikes? Having ten years off the road bike scene and going for the first time last year I learnt alot! One thing for sure bring 2 pairs of gloves as it sucks riding in wet gloves from the day before!

I'll be on my Aprilia Tuono Factory and if Im anything like last year I'll rack up over a thousand miles in the week so Im sure to see someone from here

31st to the 11th. First time for me so I have no idea where to watch/what to do etc. Tips all appreciated. Only thing I'm trying to decide is whether I ship my stuff over with "ship my bag", what I will need in it (all important camping chair?) and what bike Hornet or R6!

Sadly all my mates who were meant to come with me have bailed but I still can't wait smile

Wet from being too hot, right? I ended up buying a pair of MX gloves last year so I could ride around in comfort!

Sadly not going this year, I had plans to do Le Mans instead so never booked anything... Yes I am regretting it, and I will be on the phone as soon as the office opens for next year!

If it were me it would be Hornet for comfort. Still have plenty of fun sub 120 on that. We often sat at the pub and the field/mount bit just after the pub at the end of the mountain section. Its like old school moto-x you can literally be right next to the bikes in places as they pass at silly speeds

I took the bike over last time and luckily could put my kit bag in a friends van that went every year. If only going by bike take a decent bag or buy cheap socks/pants out there and bin them after as I wore the same tee for 4 days and...well the guys forced me to change it lets put it that way yuck

I wish! No rain - random day of it that got me soaked. I took leathers and textiles last year but will just take leathers this year and a rain oversuit but definitely 2 pairs of gloves!

I'm going on the Friday evening sailing and coming back the following Sunday lunchtime. First time trip for me, on an R1.

My wife and I are going, it'll be our fourth year on the trot. We sail on Sunday 28th and come back on the day of the senior, although the holiday starts on Saturday 27th as we drive the van up to Morecambe Bay from East Sussex and have a night up there.

We then park the van up on someone's drive (with their permission !) and take our trusty 1998 VFR800 across, suitably kitted up with soft panniers. huge tankbag and wife's rucksack. VFR suits us well for 2 up stuff, but is also quick and enjoyable for my early morning solo laps, which I do almost every day, aiming for coffee in Parliament Square 6.30ish and on to a fairly quiet mountain road shortly after.

We're staying very close to Ballacraine corner in a 'Homestay' same place we stayed last year, perfectly placed for bus route to Peel or Douglas in the evening if/when beers are required, although Douglas isn't our thing really, whereas Peel is one of our favourite places.

As with Birky, I'll do around 1000 miles on the island.

It's a totally brilliant couple of weeks !

I'm going over on the 6th, coming back on the 12th. Seriously Seriously excited! I'm convinced this could be one of the best TT's ever as long as all the boys get through NW 200 unscathed, after the events of last year I'm really hoping for no major accidents there.

I'm not riding but instead have a 5 hour drive with my mate and all our camping gear for 6 nights - in a Smart car! so that will still be an adventure of sorts.. parking in Heysham and then going over on foot.

I've just finished Michael Dunlops book (well worth a read btw) and not thinking of much else other than the TT at the moment!

Who's staying where? We're in the IOM TT camping at Douglas.

Just 4 nights of practice for me and my daughter. Fly in on Sat, go to collect the bike I have bought (!) ride it about for 4 days, ride it home!!

Hope the weather is good, last year it was beautiful, blue skies, warm, we had a brilliant few days and looking forward to it again!

It was on race week! We got one day/morning of bad weather...I had a few mates go practice week and that was a different story for anyone who was there and can remember!

Going out late Saturday May 27th. Might go up via first race at Donington WSB if I'm feeling v.enthusiastic and coming back very late Sun Jun 4th. Christ I'm looking forward to 1am off the ferry for 200 odd mile motorway miles home through the night and into work for 8am on the Monday morning!

Staying in Douglas. Not sure how much "lapping" I'll be doing as I sort of did that back in 90's and now watching TT clips I seem to repeatdley say "Bloody hell, that bits got speed limits on it now, and that bit, and that bit" etc etc

The wife's previous other half (who I get on with but haven't seen for 20 years) is Manx FM's brekkie DJ so I'm hoping he can get us into some VIP areas / free drinks.

Will be two up on the old burro! Not sure what colour wheels it will have in it as I seem to have 4 sets. Will definitely have a new chain & sprockets in the next few weeks as no matter how much I adjust it, it's touching the floor 50 mile later. Might even treat myself to some new ROAD tyres rather than wear out some buggered Supercorsas!!

Edit. Photobucket is rubbish.

Went for the first time last year on the Fireblade but she'll be staying home this time sadly and Sebo and I will be flying there with Sleazyjet from the 3rd to the 6th. Bit of a whistle stop trip but hopefully made more palatable by the shortened overall travel times and lack of 3am ferries and the like...

Hoping that the bus service and taxis will see us through this year. Oh, and that we can get all our camping gear on the plane...

Not sure I'll be finding gems such as this in 2017 - stumbled on this lake/reservoir and road last year in the middle of the course somewhere after just following my nose for a bit. Stunning island.

Also saw this parked up on the seafront one day too... cloud9

Cameron Donald had a few issues one of the practice evenings while we were stopped up at Union Mills having a beer or five and had a short chat with us - nice chap.

Can't wait.

For old school viewing I'd recommend at least one visit to Cronk Y Voddy. They still allow spectators to watch from the very edge of the road and it's mind blowing. Start at the top and walk down to the cottage for the best of all worlds. Make sure you park on the outside of the circuit otherwise you'll be landlocked for duration of the road closures.

Yep that's the spot I meant. Literally you sit on the edge and they are inches from you. Amazing that it can be like that given how much health and safety crap there is now

I'll just be slinging my supercorsa I got on the bike new. They've done about 1800 miles of winter and I've got a spare rear if I need to change it. The m7rr on the back is dead after the Germany trip and I have too many half worn tyres in my garage attic that I should really use!

My first time there, really looking forward to it. The plan is to ride over next year but am struggling with annual leave this year so just a whistle stop. Looking forward to seeing the pack of new bikes being put through their paces around the Island. beer

Go straight from airport to the ferry terminal visitor centre, get a travel pass, (£39 for 5 days?) and it will get you on all the trams, (horse and electric) the Southern steam trains (brilliant) and all the busses. Me and daughter had a brill time using public transport last year. Real fun.

Also, to everyone, go and have a go on the bumper boats and Onchan Head!! Was a great laugh last year on them!

Should be enjoying my first pint on the island 3 weeks today, around this time, probably at The Creek in Peel

Will miss the smells and sounds of the Suter MMX this year sadly, seen here with Ian Lougher smoking it off the line during the 2016 Superbike Race

They not running it this year? I don't think it even made 2 laps last year
