Bang on, exactly my feelings. The controversial Jorge is a brilliant rider, Im pretty sure that the fact that I struggle to warm to him won't cost him much sleep. I'd rather he was on a competitive bike (maybe it will come to the duck, I hope so) as the more talent at the front the better, and he's certainly a great talent.

We are spoiled at the moment.

Only thing I'd say is that I like F1 one as well. It's very different to MotoGP, but the engineering of the cars is astonishing, and the top drivers are great to watch. It's a very different spectacle so is hard to compare as the sports deliver something different. I enjoy both but for different reasons.

Agree with Dakkon too, MotoGP is fantastic entertainment at the moment.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool F1 fan too but it doesn't come close to MotoGP these days. Agreed, in F1, the tech is fascinating, but aero is too important and more often than not it nullifies the racing. Bike racing is purer and simpler and far better to watch as a result.

You're right . This year MotoGP is an unknown (gut tells me Marquez will still take it as the most gifted rider, although the Yamaha is perhaps marginally the better bike overall). And those riders (Carl Fogarty anyone?) that win stloads but by sticking with the same obviously better bike wear a bit thin after a while. Lorenzo was that rider until this year, the Ducati isn't the best bike, so I'm happy to see him do well now, much as I was happy to see Byrne win on the Panigale after the Kawasaki.
F1 is totally irrelevant as the cars have no use bar their own championship. Because of that the prime consideration should be entertainment because that is what should get people watching as there is no carry-over to the man in the street. Technology for technology's sake doesn't entertain me but it does some people apparently. But as you say the aero wrecks the entertainment. Perhaps at some point the organisers will realise what actually matters and what doesn't. At least this year there are two manufacturers competing.
