Cool cool. I've emailed Bemsee so I may end up doing the weekend next year with them.
Thanks
Out of curiosity, which class are you looking to race in?

Minitwins.

Failing that, I'm considering CB500's with ThundersportGB.

MotoTraxport on here is an ex-Champeeeen from Bemsee MiniTwins. Any tech questions and he's the man to ask

A mate of mine has suggested that I try the CB500 racing as a starting point to dip my toe so to speak

Standing about for 5 hours to do 5 Laps was incredibly depressing and trying.

Stood with guys asking you why your doing your licence when you've been racing already. Eh was my response.
Well your knee sliders are all fked.
That sounds ste. The ACU test itself is a piece of cake though. When I did mine, there was a lady on a road plated aprilia 125 that literally had never ridden anything other than a moped.
The ACU instructors had to to teach her how to pull away and change gear in the carpark before she got out on track, and she still passed so now has a race license.
She may go on to be the next Jenny Tinmouth, but who knows

Nice one binreckon you'll buy an interim bike within a week hehe
Tempted to, been offered a mint 675R for not much but then I don't know if I can be arsed with the hassle of selling it on in a few months. Will just wait and get the S1000 then get it out to Spain at the end of the year!
With the BSB season ending at the beginning of Oct, that'll fine you nicely up for a trip to Cartagena on the 27th when you get the BMW.
There's a big group of us going, and you're welcome to tag along with us if you like

I remember watching the superteens when I did mine back in 2008. No matter how small they were (and some were tiny) they had to be able to have one foot down when the bike was stationary. In order for some of these kids to do that, they would have their right leg hooked over the seat and then still only manage tip toes.

A bit later I did actually see a girl refused a licence based on the fact that she would be dangerous as she was so slow. She was doing Brands Indy in the 1:50's towards the end of the day. Bemsee gave her dispensation to attend test days under instruction with a view to resitting her test the following year

This lady was properly slow. The test was at Combe, and I'd guess she was doing circa 4mins per lap
She was lovely though, and by her own admission, she was only doing the ACU to be able to do trackdays as she didn't have a road license.
Although now she has her license, she could go and line up on the grid in the club 1000 class

Once you have your licence, be careful what rash decisions you make. I'm not sure if the regs/club rules have been relaxed but trying to get a cheeky race in this season could affect your rookie status for next year. It will be worth speaking to the club you're looking at joining for clarification

Garage list is out for the 1000km endurance event at Donny with NL.

Graeme4130 is in garage 32 in his '113 events' team, sharing a garage with FWR team.

Gavia, Fleegle and Hebegebe are in garage 6 with team 'Lucking Fast'

I've joined a team called 'Legends' and are based in garage 17.

We've got a masseur coming along from the events company, so if any of you need a rub and tug, garage 32 is where it's at
I'll make sure he moisturised his hands for you boys smile

I'm really looking forward to this. Kinda nervous that I haven't been to Donny in 5 or 6 years when I was in the novice group. I see we get 20 minutes qualifying, so will need to try hard to learn the track quickly. Need to find and watch some videos

I'm getting quite giddy about this now. Got a trackday at Anglesey tomorrow and a mates dropped out so I'm going to try going out on two groups to see how feasible c40 minute stints are. I'm guessing not very if I'm honest
