Re-showing the Will Hartog win at Assen in 77, there's a horse on the grass run off just off the circuit at the exit of the chicane. He had a good view but did he pay for his ticket.
That was mental wasn't it!!? All the crowd go mental, as does the horse!!!

That may be one of the best races I've ever watched in MotoGP.

Now that is why we watch MotoGP.

Awesome to be here again and finally see Rossi win at Assen. Shame for Cal.

My daughter at 3yrs old has seen Rossi win on 2 continents at 2 of the oldest and greatest circuits on the calendar.

Top race indeed!!
Rossi cutting up Zarco looked a little dubious, & sour grapes about blue flags not being waved. Shame about Sam Lowes, & Cal almost got a podium.....
Its refreshing to see a race with a bit of drizzle thrown into the mix.

Just thinking of Zarco at Austin Texas what goes around etc.
Great race though, as you say a bit of drizzle always adds a bit of spice smile

MM's line on the last lap to go back past Crutchlow for the last time was nothing short of genius.

Finishing 3rd after crashing at the chicane earlier was very impressive. the one they had in super slow-mo.

The crash result after his front tyre had tried to escape from under him.

That was superb, didn't think Vale had enough to keep the hard chargers behind him. Amazing the way riders can all of a sudden pic up the pace and then drop off a few laps later (Dovi). Most of the race had 4 riders at the front covered by 1 second. Bonkers stuff.
Fabulous stuff.

Great racing in all classes, Mcpee what a race for him and that slow-mo of Marquez tucking the front with his elbow on the ground and not giving a single fk.

Well done Crutchlow, so nearly on the podium.

Moto 2, action and close racing from start to finish.

What was the official reason for Zarco pitting? I heard his rear might be fked, a gamble...It seemed like madness. I was actually annoyed at him, God knows how he felt. biggrin

He was pushing at the limit to stay with the 3 in front and then when it started to to rain he knew he would be dropping further back so took the gamble to come straight in for a wet tyres. Every other time it had rained over the weekend it rained a lot, like in warmup. It only had to rain a little bit more than it did and it would have worked, but it didn't.

This is what I read earlier.

“This weekend ended in a disappointing way, but we are learning and we will be back stronger in Germany. The performances on Saturday were great, and we all know that Johann clinched an unbelievable pole position and Jonas got his best qualifying result so far. However, there was always going to be the possibility of strange weather and the riders didn’t have a lot of dry track time this weekend so I was a bit nervous on the grid. Our guys decided to choose the full soft tyres, front as well as rear, and Johann had an incredible opening half to the GP. He had a small touch with Valentino, which cost him a bit of time, but from that moment, he held on to fourth. Johann told me that when the first few raindrops fell, it disturbed him more than the guys in front and he couldn’t keep their pace. So, he took the gamble to switch bikes, in case there was a heavy downpour like the one in warm up, yet, unfortunately, this didn’t happen. It’s a disappointing end to the day, but Johann said that we will learn by being at the front, plus, we must remember that he is still a rookie and we are stronger now than when we came here"

Brilliant race. Great to different manufacturers and different teams battling at the front. Petrucci is right on it at the moment (he looked so wild in qualifying). Dovi was brilliant, Cal was brilliant, Marc was brilliant, What can you say about Rossi!.

I think Zarco was unlucky - he was on soft tyres and rolled the dice after his softs had clearly gone off a bit. I wonder if the drizzle had been a few laps earlier if it would have taken the stress off his tyres and he could have stayed out (or of course if it had hammered down once he changed to wets).

Starting to feel a bit for Jorge. Looking at the comparisons people like to make between Rossi and Stoner (on a different Ducati from 4 or 5 years previous). It has to be painful for a class rider like Jorge to be so far off Dovi and Petrucci.
