The Standard really is just the Daily Mail, isn't it?

A teenage boy has died after being hit by a police car while being pursued by officers in Wimbledon...

The teenager was riding a moped with two other boys along South Park Road when it hit a police car at a crossroads at around 2.15am.

Police said the moped collided with the side of the police car as both vehicles crossed the junction at the same time.
Which vehicle hit which?

This actually might discourage some of the scumbags.

No reason why. I was immortal at 15, weren't you?

Of course like every teenager smile ,but then I did not do armed robbery or ride a motorbike on the road.

And, who knows how many future crimes the early demise of said scrote will prevent.

Ok not good but sorry thats a bit of a non event compared to the bike/scooter one I posted earlier no-one commented on. Where they physically assulted the guy and it took members of the public to help him.
So the guy stuck a knife through his open window - ok its simple the car has AC. Keep the doors locked and windows up. Surprised the driver didn't move off as soon as the car in front did.

This may be true, but to many who do not ride the motorbike attacks/thefts will be seen as happening to an anti-social and largely lawless section of society that has no impact on them.

If the attacks have a more local application to car drivers then they are more likely to jump up and down about it, with the increased numbers the greater possibility that something could actually be done.

I suspect we are going to see more vigilante groups taking the law into their own hands.

He's dead? Oh dear, how sad. I'd go say a prayer for him, only I need to go buy lunch before the canteen gets crowded.

I like your thinking but take exception to the statement on 'anti-social and largely lawless section of society', I'll initially give you the benefit of the doubt you worded it poorly and are not roping me and other fully law abiding legally held fully noise compliant safe bike riders in this statement.

Sadly the majority of car drivers will remain unaffected as they'll only target the highend nice stuff which most people can't afford. My old 2003 Leon Cupra had self locking doors above 5mph and climate control so the windows always stayed up - its really would be a non event to have a youth 2 up on a scooter asking me in a traffic queue to hand over my car at knifepoint.
I do ride a nice bike on the otherhand so am already on the lookout daily for the two up tts there really is NO comparison to driving a car where you can be safely locked inside.

I disagree with your point, you have to see the bigger issue here.

Its' not about nice cars or if you have your windows up, the issue is that there is a part of this society who live by different values and have a perception of different rules. They do what THEY like, they choose the reason for attacking & be sure it will be something petty like you look rich, something 'random' wearing a hat or simply you look weaker then they are, they will open your closed window with a brick, hammer or whatever else they are carrying, they are not afraid of you or any consequence that may follow. They hunt in packs, they don't give a sh*t.

Solving this won't be simple. I do wonder is this is the next generation who don't give a sh*t about society since the 100's who were jailed from the riots in 2011. Whatever has been in place to solve that (or lack of) since then hasn't worked for these clowns

A rapper. White people love him.

Radio 1 has more of a love-in with Stormzy than Radio 1xtra, its very strange.

As for Diane Abbott, well, her career is clearly circling the drain.
People said that about her back in the early 1980's when she was best buddies with Bernie Grant in Brent Council.....

30 years later I'm still waiting for her to disappear down said drain......

From the one time I heard hm on the TV, he is actually a particularly st rapper (on the basis that the majority of the genre is st to start with, this is quite the accomplishment). Seems he's this month's "emperor's new clothes" artiste.

Back on topic. Ish. I have actually found myself feeling less & less comfortable walking round London recently, on the basis that if I saw some of this lot trying to nick a bike, I would find it VERY hard to ignore it, but OTOH I am neither an internet nor a real-life hard man, so my options are a little limited. I'd like to think that I'd hover until they tried to ride off and then try and shove them over, but in reality I have no idea what would happen. Calling the police would be of limited value; even if they deigned to attend, the TWOCs would be long gone before the one available car in the metropolis made it's way from Harrow to Tower Bridge.
