Rossi breaks leg during enduro crash.
Discussion
Just seen a flash news report. Looks like Valentino may have broken his tib and fib during an enduro motor cross accident.
Bloody hell I was so hoping he made it 10. Looks like this could be the end of his season.

Tib and fib are nasty
Common mx break. Takes most mere mortals on NHS a year to get fixed from that
Was only watching him wiz through the pits on his scooter Sunday just gone
Be gutted to see him out. I'm no rossi fan but he's similar age to me and I've watched him since the beginning

I can believe Yamaha allow him to do it. Let alone that surely he must think getting serious now how about I mitigate the risk somewhat.
Oh well come on dovi, could you imagine lorenzos face if dovi wins. I bet Ducati must be wondering why they are paying him so much cash to be nowhere near.

Beats me why any high profile team would allow any rider near that crap in season.
If I were Lin Jarvis there would be a ban on MX or any other high risk off-road riding during the season.
Fall foul of the ban and salary over for the season plus possible compensation payments for breach of contract.

They all do it keeps them fit and good training with the bike movement but can see your point. If I were Lin Jarvis there would be a ban on MX or any other high risk off-road riding during the season.

Absolutely gutted about this. I can see this ending his career and will be a massive loss for Moto GP as a whole.
I doubt I'll be watching it when he retires, no standout characters to take over his mantle. Hope Dovi wins the title now, I can't stand Marquez.
I'm fairly detached with all the emotional stuff, no idolising for me, but Marquez is a cut above the rest and I could dislike him if I felt like it and still not resent him taking the title (that would only happen if he won on what was obviously the best bike, which it has been but isn't now). That ride last year (Lausitzring?) where he went out on slicks with an inch perfect dry-line almost deserved the title there and then.I doubt I'll be watching it when he retires, no standout characters to take over his mantle. Hope Dovi wins the title now, I can't stand Marquez.

Do it out of season then.
Accidents happen, but MX etc is bullst in season. Like Christopher Walken in The Deer Hunter and Russian Roulette. Why would you even risk it?

No doubt he's good and willing to push to the limit. I think Simmoncelli would have given him a run for his money! Or Stoner in the same team. Sadly no real characters coming through anymore but it has become a lot more corporate and at time F1 like.

This isn't about keeping them race fit though, there are plenty of other ways to do that. They like to claim it keeps their eye in and works wonders for bike feel and control.
Do it out of season then.

I agree. Pretty sure some A Lister movie stars are not allowed to ride motorbikes due to contractual obligations?Do it out of season then.

Who cares about character, I like to watch the skill (which makes the death of the 500 2-strokes a shame). Stoner had zero character, but I had him as someone to watch when he was doing things on the white bike. Simoncelli was never in the same league as Rossi, Stoner or Marquez.Sadly no real characters coming through anymore but it has become a lot more corporate and at time F1 like.

Plenty care about character why do you think Guy Martin is so popular? When Rossi retires the attendance and viewing figure will fall. Dorna know it and have been concerned about it for years.oilbethere said:
