VR will miss two races and more than likely ride at Motegi.

This years tilt at the title is over sadly, but plenty for other to play for.

Having spent the last 5 years at all three days of the British Gp, this year was the worst Ive seen for "Yellow" fever in terms of apparel.

Looking round the circuit, its hard to find anything that isnt marketed by VR46, so maybe thats why ?

MGP will live on when hes gone - same as after Schwantz, same as after Doohan, same as after Rainey.....

You missed me in my Crutchlow top then, i was concerned that wearing it might make me fall over but i needn't have worried.

I would love to see VR achieve the tenth, but I think 93 will go one better anyway......

My only sorrow is that Casey isnt there right now, I think that would have been epic.

I can't believe the amount of people questioning the enduro ! MX stuff on here. His ranch has always had the Offroad dirttrack and that's what it's likely to have happened on. A few weeks back Edwards and Hodgson had a go at exactly the same set up at Colin's boot camp.

It's training for sharpness. All bike racing is dangerous.

As for those talking like it's the end of an era, or better still that they won't watch again, due to not liking personalities, then enjoy your Hello subscription.
Whatever you think or believe the cold reality is it WILL be an end of an era.

Name Rossi and most people know or have heard of him, his name is household now, since years, name Marquez/Lorenzo/Dovizioso/... and only those interested in MotoGP would know. Why do you think this is? Why do you think his fan clubS are so huge? Why do you think his empire is so huge? Why do you think Minichamps releases a million models of Rossi and his bike?
He defined MotoGP for a long time, thanks to his down-to-earth character as well as his skills. Pushing 38 and still on par with the 20s crowd.

Even when VR retires from racing, he'll still be in the paddock. He's already running teams in Moto3 and Moto2 and it's only an agreement that no new factory backed teams will enter before a given date that is stopping him running a MotoGP team..

I can see him doing a deal with someone like Tech3 to take it over so that he can run factory Yamahas...

The one thing I particularly like about VR is he is now thinking to the future of the sport and bringing through some very talented young riders.. so it stands a reasonable chance that his "fan base" will migrate to following his teams rather than him as a rider.

I can't see VR ever getting no. 10 now. Oh well - would be really nice to see a non-Spanish winner for a change though.

Read my subsequent reply and put your mock outrage back in your pocket.

Similar to my own in Dec 1975 but mine was compound as well as ankle and Femur, oh and hip and 4 ribs, collar bone and shoulder as well as crushed left hand and ring finger amputated. Still not right after 42 years but that's another story.

He is fit as a flea and with an Inter Nail and good care he will perhaps miss this weekend but will be at the one after. Remember his break previously which was compound he was back racing in 5/6 weeks. Broke on 5th June 2010 and finished 4th on 18th July.

These geezers are tough.
As you age, it takes significantly longer for bones to re-heal. I wonder if this will play a part in his recovery time 7 years after his previous compound break. My own collarbone which was in 4 pieces had not fully set 6 months post-surgery, despite the metalwork in place to hold it steady and all lined up.

Got a link to the source out of interest?

I heard Motegi which is just under 6 weeks. Doctors have said he'll need 30-40 days so Aragon would be impressive considering it's less than 3 weeks away.

Perhaps we need The Sun to run a picture of broken Rossi's leg - like it did with Beckham's Foot

And at midday we can all place our hands on it and heel it with mind transfer

When you're a professional athletic paid hundreds of thousands of pounds, why would you slice your hand and not get it looked at that evening? Very odd.

Maybe back for Aragon??

Apparently he's been testing an R1 road bike in a private test at Misano to test his fitness with a view to racing

Decision tomorrow as to whether he attempts First Practice. Unbelievable if he does!

It's all hype to sell more tickets. If he does ride then it's a daft move and potentially career ending even with the most minor off.

Blooming risky isn't it? It's not like he's in the title fight anyone is it, so I don't know why he's rushing back when he isn't going to be 100%.

As you say, it's got to be hype to keep ticket sales up surely?
