Just ordered myself one from John Banks on this pretty generous DCT 0 percent PCP deal.

Nearly time to chop the commuter in anyway, so this came along at a good time.

I am looking at centre stand, taller screen and ammo box style top box. Anybody have any good suggestions for aftermarket parts?

Thanks

A mate called them this morning to try to order one, and they'd sold out apparently.

Looked like an awesome deal, my man maths worked overtime to try and justify getting one but it just didn't work out for me! biggrin

I spoke to Tim at the dealership this morning, they had 2 left.

My sensible brain kicked in and I managed to stop myself. Regretting it now frown

I struggled to talk myself out of it. Probably the easiest sell he has made. Filled all the forms out yesterday. All ready to go this morning.

I've got my name down for one, waiting for a call back to arrange the paperwork and collection.

Same, they did all the finance thing and said it was approved. But not had anything else yet

Tall screen is deffo worth it, my demo bike had that and at 6ft 3 I could ride visor up at motorway speeds with no air hitting my face. Perfect for avoiding all the winter road crap.

I rang up this morning and unreserved my bike....I am still undecided and may ring back.

It's just all a rush and I HAVE to sell the Gsxr to make room for it and also then spend the cash on house crap! The GSXR is mint, brand new tyre, serviced and a lot if fun so my sensible head says have a couple more years fun on that and hopefully another great deal will come along.

I still love the rush of a super bike and the Africa twin was a different type of fun that would be a lot safer but not up there in comparison to a sports bike.

After ringing up the wife did say she would prefer the Africa as she can ride it and also kids can go on back. But her main reason would be to free up some cash from the sale of my bike. May discuss again with her later and ring up Honda tomorrow ( prob all gone now )

I've bought one too - gone for black. Just sorting out collection arrangements now. Bit of a no-brainer really with the deal that was on offer. Was tempted by the luggage offer but seems most rate non-OEM above the Honda stuff. Plus panniers likely to be the exception rather than the rule for mine, so I can live without them in the short term. I'd likely look at soft bags like the Kriega OS stuff or Mosko Moto so I could take it to the next bike if required.

Pretty much same here, I had a sales contract through tonight though. I guess they are busy taking calls and processing orders!

If i am reading this right...

http://www.johnbanks.co.uk/honda-bikes/offers/hond...

12k's worth of bike for just £2,590 for just over 3 years of ownership, max 4k miles per year. 6.3k to buy after 3 years...

It won't have depreciated 5.7k in three years will it? So there must be money to be made in it?

Yep, that sounds about right. As I understand it, Honda's offer is the 0% Apr, this dealership pays the deposit for you as an extra offer.

A friend ran one for a few months and said he didn't like the touring screen – it kept all the wind off his head and he got no fresh air into his lid. I'm not sure I'd ever notice such a thing (and at 6'3 I'd probably just be amazed I'd found a bike that doesn't buffet me!), but worth noting if you ride somewhere hot regularly.

Slightly envious of all the deals, spent a week in Scotland on a DCT one last month and it was a brilliant bike with a surprising amount of punch.

Just to make you all a bit itchier for your new bikes…

I must look around for a 12v outlet to fit nicely, and I might look for a center stand (didn't realise it wasn't standard), but I think I'll see how I get on with the rest before I decide anything.

Its a great deal for everyone, basically £3k odd discount, funded by dealer. You can buy a £12k bike for £9k .....well good for everyone except any that have paid anywhere near list price.

Used values in 3 years will be cheap if they are already discounting them £3k to get them to sell now........

I joined a few Facebook groups last night in anticipation for questions and can see there are a lot of people on there saying that its too good to be true and if it is true then they are not happy as they have paid 12-13k for theirs.

I haven't actually purchased the centre stand yet. But I know from my last Honda purchase the centre stand was an added extra! Will wait and see.

Isn't this finance capped at 4,000 miles for three years though? You won't be doing many trips to Africa on one then....

I do more than that on my sportsbike. I'd find that very restrictive as I'd want to do some serious mileage if I took the plunge on an Adventure bike.

Edit: Actually 7p a mile excess isn't so bad as long as you were happy to go over from the outset!

I've just bagged the last dakar red one, 3 Matt blacks left.

They get delivered on Tuesday

Couldn't resist that deal, excess mileage is 6p.

I won't be touring on it or commuting much as i will use the Burgman for that so should be around the 12k mark, if not i will pay the extra. Hopefully in 3 years there will be another cracking deal. Out of all manufactures Honda do come up with some amazing deals.

Anyone want a mint GSXR1000K7?
