So my 2004 R1200GS is starting to look and feel old and I fancy something new, possibly.

The GS is a beast, but new ones are very expensive.

My local Honda dealer are still doing cheap 0% deals on a new Africa Twin, needs a 3k deposit though to get to approx £90 a month. That deposit is the value of my GS.

Interesting to see how you long termers get on, I use my bike daily for commuting and long trips away.

You got a link to that deal?
The OH is wanting an Africa Twin and I would hope that a dealer would punt 3k at her for an original, unmolested '99 R1

Still loving mine (2017/67 DCT), it has about 24/25k miles on it I think. Mileage has varied this year so I am not pushing the 30/40k miles I thought I would be on at this time of the year.

It is up there with one of the best bikes I have owned. Hoping to do a round the world on it in the next few years if everything aligns work wise.

Love mine, but unfortunately it doesn’t get used a lot, got it last October and I’m probably gonna get rid of it if you fancy it.?

8k+ miles since April - hasn't missed a beat, now sitting at 14k. I've been planning a second bike for ages but that idea is slowly fading - there's no real point. I go on road, commute, tour and off-road and it does all of these just fine. And looks good. Before I bought it a friend told me it wouldn't let me down at anything and he was dead right. Just means I've skipped years of owning other bikes before settling down smile

Yeh, if you are keeping it, bank loan is the way forward if you are happy with second hand.

As others have said bank loan is cheaper if you’re gonna keep it.
If not I can see why you want to go finance as it’s easy.
Mine has Remus carbon can, crash bars, spot lights, heated grips, givi tank ring, and only 1800 miles on the clock Black DCT

Ive just tipped over 4000 miles. We are getting along fine & after a good few years out of the saddle the AT is a perfect reintroduction. I love it in S3 & with some Conti TA2’s feel like I can lean on it a bit. I did have a look at summat a bit more “bike shaped” the other week...Yam MT09 SP & was tempted but I’ll stick for now, maybe twist next spring.

Overall, they’re great. My spokes look grim though, if it’s a keeper I’ll get them sorted.

3.3k in and I have mixed feelings about the AT. Sometimes it leaves me a bit cold, but in the right road and day it is a blast. The DCT is brilliant. MPG has improved and I thrash the nuts of it and get just over 50mpg. New wheels on order. For the 6.2k I would have to pay at the end of the term it may be worthwhile keeping it.

I am also looking for something with a bit more power...KTM1290, MT10 or Ape V4

John Banks are still doing 0% finance but only need 2,000 deposit (they are contributing 600 quid)

I hadn't used mine for about a month until this morning (been having too much fun on the Fireblade) and wow, I'd forgotten how amusing it is when you're dicking about, especially in the traffic light grand prix. Bwaaaaaarp.

I am yet to be beaten on the Traffic Light GP - traction control on 1, S3 mode = Rossi

Really pleased that you're enjoying it - it's horrid if you get that new bike and you don't.

It’s amazing how many bikes you can surprise off the line, My brother always pisses himself when we have a race from the lights and he’s on a tuono 1100, it’s so quick to 60
