Just got back from the show......£25 to get in, not the “nearly twenty” someone mentioned earlier. Two hours and I had had a good look, had a pork roll and seen all I needed to. The place was nearly devoid of punters so it didn’t take long to get around. I dread to think what a Saturday would be like.
Rows of bog standard brand new Transformer style bikes do nothing for me, I have no need of a new jacket, helmet, bike chain, toolkit or test ride. Sitting on bikes jumping up and down making broom broom noises doesnt give me a boner either, so an hour browsing the various customised bikes and non bog-stock stuff and I was outta there.
I won’t go again, not for £25! Paying that much to go into a place that is purely for advertising, for trying to get you to buy stuff?? I get that shoved down my face from the tv, Internet and magazines enough already.

I think they referred to it as a prototype/testbed. Its going to be on sale within 18 monthsKing Herald said:

Arena Cross was free, as was the off-road taster and test rides, which was worth it

Yes, I’ll admit it. But honestly, it is just an advertising extravaganza of epic proportions, so why the steep entry fee?The Classic Car show last week was same price admission, with a free program, but totally different genre, proper classic cars, and not just hundreds of retailers shoving showroom fodder in your face. As several here have pointed out, there are no super bargains or deals any more at the show.
Good day out as usual I thought, I pre-ordered tickets so it was £20 to get in and £10 parking. It's not like £30 gets you a lot of much else these days is it, so I can't whinge at the price really.
Bit of a mixed bag as far as the attendees go, I had hoped to grab some bits from Pro-bolt but for the first time I can ever remember they weren't there. Ditto with MCE, I had planned to renew with them at the show (I've usually been able to blag BSB tickets doing it at the show in person) but they weren't there either.
As far as the manufacturer stands went though, I found plenty to see and do. The new Panigale V4 is lovely, particularly in Speciale form; it's easy to dismiss in pictures but in the metal it's stunning. Ditto the 20th anniversary R1, having now seen it in person it really looks good. I even found myself sitting on a couple of Harleys!
All in all I can't grumble, it beat a day at work anyway

I went today with my Dad and a couple of friends as usual, was enough to see and get involved in for us Midlands folk to be home later than 2pm for sure.
£25 isnt cheap I agree but its about an average day out spend on the bike anyway, plus we get Dad high on coffee and he starts playing up to the crowd, worth every penny..
She asked for his number and he asked for hers...

I went for the day yesterday.
Didn't seem as good as previous year's for bikes, and the birds on the stands are starting to wear more and more. I blame Brexit and PC brigade, but I like to see a good collection of girls draped over bikes with t-shirts painted on and not much else
HP4 carbon was possibly the highlight bike of the show for me, and I was a bit disappointed that Aprilia didn't have the new RSV4 RF with the winglets or the race only versions they released last year either
Still, it was a decent day out and a good chance to catch up with some mates and sit on a few bikes

Had a great day at the show today. Above is a couple of yeara ago at goodwood FOS vs today!
Highlight was taking the MT10-SP out for a test ride as part of the MT tour, fantastic bike with unrelenting torque even in B mode and power 2!
Rode a Uganda twin on the off road experience. Very odd slow speed riding and not having a clutch to smooth things out but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Top tip, for coffee go to the Suzuki stand, not the main on but just opposite they have some race bikes past and preaent and for a small donation you can get half decent small cup of coffee.
Was good to see the new Panigale, the T7 concept again and a the H2 SX. Wasn't fantastic as in the last few years I have sat on most of the bikes that were laid out but was nice to take more time looking at what I was really interested in.
Oh and I paid undee £20 by booking tickets online too...

You can't really blame them for putting on the show as advertised . . . why did you go?Edited by gregs656 on Wednesday 22 November 10:45

I Paid last month for 3 of us and was £21 each so how's that not nearly twenty. it's closer to £20 then £25?Edited by King Herald on Wednesday 22 November 14:15

To be honest, I was hoping for something more than just paying £25 to wander around a gigantic motorcycle shop. Not sure exactly what I expected, but I was hoping there would be more of interest. Do they charge to go into motorcycle shops anywhere else?
It's a show.
There was loads on, plenty to do. https://www.motorcyclelive.co.uk/features/
Plus then the 'showroom'.
I really don't understand the fuss in here. The information for what is on is all readily available.

Pay beforehand and get it closer to £20. And seen if I posted in this thread nearly £20 apart from quote thread above. Nope not me
Pay during event & pay more.
If you don't want to pay more then don't go, or pay earlier.
Simple really

lets not grumble. if you don't like the show fine, if you feel it's expensive don't go. Not hard really
But seems many threads go the same way. People going to a event just to grumble.
But Hay who gives a toss. Not me
I hadn't been for a few years so most of the bike were fairly new to me. I thought the show was good and did exactly what it says on the tin. The arena cross was pretty cool and free too!
There were deals to be had, alpinestars atem 1 piece under £800(might have been 699, I can't remember). I got £40 off a domino QAT through BTR. I did see some supertech R race boots for £200 too.
My biggest gripe is why doesn't everyone just put fking prices on st? Just a stand full of price tags saying "ask" on them or "cheapest at the show!" How the fk do you know when nobody has any prices on stuff!!
