Of course it's doable, you just need a little practice.

And once you've mastered the romaniacs the next natural step would be the Dakar.
I like this video betterhttp://www.redbullromaniacs.com/videos/romaniacs-2...

On a serious note, as already mentioned in most posts - do your first proper, competitive enduro, which will be a walk in the park in comparison, then report back with your thoughts.
Clarification added.I'm assuming this thread is some sort of wind-up, unless there's something we don't know yet?

I think the fact I'll be 45 by then means I'll approach things with less youthful stupidity...and sail through

I'm giving him the benefit of the the doubt and saying he is probably erring on the side of caution as its a long way to go to bin it with a silly mistake. But that looked really slow and if anything too cautious. Anyway, I have most admiration for the prologue/arena cross sections that require the trials skils. Watching gold riders through there is other-worldly.

Agreed. The prologue is insane. Anyway, I have most admiration for the prologue/arena cross sections that require the trials skils. Watching gold riders through there is other-worldly.
Now, videos of the bronze class show an already totally different story. That looks seriously challenging (mostly due to doing that for 4 days !)

Other side of the coin.....a lot of that is a nice trail ride and not much more.
Sure, doing the prologue Gold style is a different way to enjoy the time there, done for different reasons......but it’s doable by any decent enduro rider at the bottom level.

One of my chums also did the Romaniacs route with a tour company - it’s a toned down version of the full event but just not in a competitive environment...he’s a good rider (won the dusk till dawn race a couple of years back) and it was still a challenge he was saying.
Do you have any info on this tour company please? Sounds like something I'd like to do with some mates!Tiggsy said:
