aftermarket master cylinder

My master cylinder on the track bike is f
ked, diagnosed by the poster formally known as Loon R1 of all people and confirmed the last time I rode it on track, I promptly shat it after noticeable sporadic decreased braking ability.
You can rebuild them but fk it I'll just get a new one. So original or aftermarket. Anyone seen much difference from standard?
What brand or just buy a brembo.

Massive difference in my opinion, some carbon pad and braided lines and you should out braking them all. Loon R1 would have told you that surely?

The 09-14 R1 came with a Brembo M/C too
Brembo RCS and EBC pads are going in my track bike over winter.
So did the 04-08 R1 John IIRC? The 09-14 R1 came with a Brembo M/C too

The brakes on my 13 R1 are average at best ... changing the pads has helped but to get anywhere near the brakes on my blade will need an RCS I bet ... not that I’m going to bother.
I don't know the technicalities completely but the Brembo RCS is radial mounted with a large bore and has switchable pivot ratio's from 18-20 which allow you to have either greater power with less effort or slightly more effort and greater feel.
Also the resistance to fade and the lever coming back to the bar is also a lot better, in that it doesn't happen as much in the 8-10 laps of the average track session.

4. Calipers

Bigger / Adjustable bore ... less travel.Most OE MC's are 14mm or 16mm pistons. So need more force applied at the lever for the same braking power.
RCS is 19 x 18 or 19 x 20 (I prefer 19 x 18) which is 19mm piston with adjustable pivot center of 18mm or 20mm that assists with how the lever feels. 18mm is more progressive, 20mm is pretty much instant and feels a bit wooden to me. But as it has a 19mm piston less force at the lever is required.
On the RCS19 better materials and seals are used. It is forged alum as well.
An aftermarket unit such as the RCS / Accossato MC's doesn't actually provide more braking force as such. They reduce the amount of force (pull) required by your hand to activate the brakes, i.e. a better ratio, therefore you can put more effort into the braking system with less effort.
