Thanks. I think the previous owner was on top of a lot of this stuff as there's some serious heat deflection material under the seat. I'll check the rest though, cheers.

I took it out in the pouring rain yesterday... I'd just got it and sitting on it in the garage wasn't going to cut it. It's so confidence inspiring in the rain with all the crap on the roads. Really happy with it. Actually thoroughly enjoyed the ride despite the floods.
Dealers did fit additional under seat heat reflecting material but you might find the underside of your right thigh gets hot. Winter in UK might be nice but careful in summer biggrin
Easy way to tell if the dongle is connected you’ll get a warning message at switch on. Also a little black box under the seat if equipped but not connected. Makes the tiresome settings reset each restart a thing of the past.

Mine was cracking. Would pull an honest 240 on TKC 80’s with panniers and big dry bag on top. Monster engine even in rain mode (100bhp)

I see Saltire have a charity run down the Borders way on Sunday - OK, Galashiels and Peebles so not quite 'your' Borders but South of Edinburgh anyway...which is bandit country to me, but if it's a decent day I'll venture down and risk life and limb with the natives.
What a great day - started overcast but then the sun came out smile Maybe 40-odd bikes - and a real good mix at that - but all keeping a good pace and no real sillyness. Soup and shepherds pie stop...

...anyway - an absolutely stunning autumn day here now with a clear azure sky and not a breath of wind. i'm off for a wee run to the Trossachs - the joy of giving up full time work smile

See ya wavey

went there the other week

then home via the A701 which is probably the best road i use all told, riding into the late summer/early autumn sunshine on a virtually deserted road.
i can always find an excuse to use it.

Probably the last ride of the year for me. Enjoyed it but haven’t done many miles at all this year. A few bits to do to the bike over the winter then back out next year.

Well that’s my year done pretty much, Tuono is tucked up under its cover (where it’s spent pretty much all year) and the Kawasaki has started its conversion to race bike. Spent the weekend reducing the loom to only what is necessary and getting rid of unnecessary weight.
There’s a possibility I may be getting a YZ250F at the weekend though so that should make for an interesting winter, I want to do some enduros but my off road experience is limited!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, that looks fantastic.

New bike day...

Put a hundred or so miles on it on the way home despite the high winds. Amazing bike, really pleased with it. Very comfortable, not at all tiring to ride, so confidence inspiring and loads of power to overtake. It's a 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure by the way.
Great looking bike, let us know how you get on with it day to day smile Genuinely interested to know how KTMs do commuting.

What's the story with that? Did you know that people can look at your photos on flicker? I did and now I'm putting one and one together and getting three....

Not a bike but I’m sure you’ll accept it. Hired this for the next 2 days to surprise my dad for his birthday. It’s surprisingly easy to drive, it’s terrible on fuel too!

Honda's wording definitely looks better on the bike.

Yeah, style over substance though isn’t it?

This is an earlier 6.3. It’s been great fun today, done about 220 miles today and it somehow managed a massive 18mpg! It makes a lovely noise and just cruises along. It certainly isn’t fast but it doesn’t matter when it makes that noise! It certainly gets some attention too!

1,000,000/10 for that hope your dad appreciates it and you both have some fun

Places bets on 14mpg overall

Edited to add - seen 18mpg in a later post after I had replied but still sticking with 14mpg
