Exciting. Love to hear what you think when you ride it. Or when you stop slipping the clutch wink
Haha I've been warned it’s 30mph before you can stop slipping in first hehe

Maybe I’m being dumb but isn’t the A10 a twin and the gold star was only ever a single?

You aren't being dumb.

But there was a Rocket Gold Star, which was a twin and used a tuned A10 motor.

yes Originated as a special - Super Rocket engine in a Gold Star - built by Eddie Dow ("Britain's Gold Star Service") at the request of a customer. Then BSA made it an official model for a couple of years. Cynics said it was a way of using up all the A10 bits that were left in the stores when the A65 was introduced. smile

That’s the intention I’ve collected most of the parts so hopefully have it ready in the next couple of months my dads had a couple of rocket gold stars so I’ve raided his stash.

I also hope you have fun on it. It is a personal thing, but the looks do nothing for me, and I'm a big KTM fan. Something about the upper fairing/headlight cowl/windshield just looks weird to me.
I too am a KTM fan and I've had several (albeit dirt bikes) going all the way back to the late eighties and I'm afraid I have to agree there. I think it's hideous

Every day's a school day smile

Creating bikes from left-over BSA parts sounds familiar - I've got one on the garage with a Triumph badge on the tank wink

Covered about 50 miles offroad today in Romania in perfect conditions. Some sections were extremely gnarly and rocky, others gravel and wet mud. Just epic day tooped off by a 50miler back along the ribboned tarmac of the Transalpina. Transfagarasan tomorrow.

Any problems with the travel to Romania?
Was supposed to be leaving this coming Sunday for Romania but we've put it off for next year due to Covid. The hotels have all been sound and let us move the bookings to next year.

I understand that POV and agree its no looker but, for me at least, the plus points outweigh the looks. Its light weight, incredible well balanced, comfortable but reasonable sporty. Its the practical tool in my garage, I've prettier bikes in my garage but this is the one i feel I could jump on and just take off

You my man are living the dream, maybe not lottery winning dream but in all fairness every post of yours looks idyllic smile Fair play . Cracking photos as always. My photos consist of a bike next to a hedge on a Sunday afternoon in the uk if I'm lucky frown
