A picture a day...biker banter (Vol 5)
Discussion
No. Even I think that's a bad idea ....... but my textile jacket does have a fair bit of bright yellow and the helmet is also bright yellow.
I like to increase my chances of being seen and also use a yellow jacket and yellow helmet when using the engineless two wheeler.
In traffic, especially at junctions, often the helmet is the only bit that can be seen from a car.
I was in my car turning right at traffic lights on a dual carriageway. It was at night and wet, cars coming the other way also turning right in front of me but nothing coming straight through, so OK for me to turn right ...... except I just caught a glimpse of a helmet above the roof of the cars. There was a bike coming straight through.
Looking at the world through my aging eyes, I cannot understand why anybody would go out on a bike wearing black.
I can understand why the SAS might like it ..... cos they do not want to be seen.
Anyway, as it's a picture thread, here's another with the helmet.

I didnt get out this weekend but alot of my guys did
Was cold and a bit slippy I was told. One of our lot who is always out with us slipped on something at sub 20mph
That slide on his Pikes Peak cost £1000 if parts replaced - which he wants to do! I would be getting that painted all day long but I guess if he has the money...

KTM "failed to proceed" over the weekend. Also garage smelled funny, battery was flat and main fuse had blown.
After charging battery, replacing fuse and careful reconnecting for a few seconds some smoke came out from under the tank. The rectifier is under the tank somewhere. So:
Looks like the magic smoke has come out:
I got a second hand one and fitted it - all fine. Taking the old one off the mount the old rectifier had shorted internally and got that hot it melted the wires shown. Blimey!

New oil cooler, sprocket cover/clutch slave and a TB balance for the Fugly, what a joy it is to work on a bike that is simple and easy, once you have got all the rusted fasteners off
And all back together, hate faired bikes
its for sale if anyone wants to buy it
