Is there a class that the 636cc model can race in competitively?
No limits allow pre 2007 636’s to race in the 600 class. I’m going to be running in newcomers 600s and I’m sure I’ll have one of the oldest bikes on the grid. I did think about changing but I gel with this bike so decided to stick with it.
I think NG roadracing allow them to race as well
I'm a bit out of touch with rules at club level now so was unsure about the capacity, oversize discs etc on supersport stuff

The rules with regards to modifications are pretty relaxed, especially chassis wise. Forks, brakes, swingarms, shocks, wheels etc. You can pretty much do what you please. Engine wise it’s a bit stricter but to be honest my bike is pretty much a dead heat with any modern 600 in a straight line so that doesn’t worry me. My strength is mid corner speed, I need to get better on the brakes so I’ve decided to make the brakes better to help me with that.
In reality the thing that’s going to hold it back is me...

Managed one last ride on the CRF250L before Winter kicks in. Although I was surprised by snow this morning, so that nearly put me off! My main thought was, can I get the bike onto the trailer without falling over...
I drove out to Ganaraska Forest, which is 11,000 acres of bloody amazing trails. Everything from wide fire roads, to fast dual track, to tight and technical single track through the forest. I have some trails near my house but this place is really worth the drive! The CRF does really well here, just the right amount of power, especially for my skill level.
Two things worth mentioning. I installed some tie down strap rings to both the bike forks and the trailer, best few quid I've ever spent! They are rated to 2,000lbs so are pretty strong, and now my tie downs don't bounce loose. Also got a Kriega tail pack, which comes in very handy for wallet, phone, keys etc. I also managed to fit a rain jacket in there. Now I don't have to wear a backpack, which is good.
Fantastic that you have access to these sort of areas to just go and ride your bike. I guess its the beauty of living in such a vast country. In the UK, there are very few places where you can do this, and almost all of them you are restricted to very few trails. A few years back I dealt with a “Facebook threats” job. Every cop’s absolute favourite call...Someone had been rude on Facebook to someone else and had called them names online. I spoke to the complainant and asked her who the “offender” was. “She’s a friend.” How did you know this friend? School, work, pub, club...? “No, she’s a mate of a mate on Facebook and she sent me a friend request so I accepted it.” Had she ever actually met this person, in real life, or spoken to them on the phone? “No, we just chat on Facebook and BBM” (shows how long ago it was!) Why don’t you just defriend her then, or block her? “Because then I wouldn’t have as many Facebook friends and if I did that with all of them what called me names, I’d have hundreds less...” Hundreds? How many Facebook friends have you got? “About 8,000...”
