Whoo-Pee, new bike....well almost....for me :

St 70 from 1973, with Old Skool 88cc kit ( and registered as such ) , only 8.000mls and in very good shape,

this also in answer to "where did all the mopeds go"..bought by old gits reviving their youngster days.

Downer is : vehicle registration office closed for social distancing, but I may clean & check it.

On my never-ending MiniCustom, the chainguard is mounted to the Takegawa swing arm,

with hidden mounts and no drilling, quite chuffed.

Now I need to fill the gap between sprocket cover & chain guard with sheet metal or rubber strip.

Thanks.
Yeah I loved the exhaust when I saw it!
I've been looking for a 3TJ for a couple of years now but they're just not around any more really.
Horn doesn't work, and neither does the sidelight, so I'll sort them at then MOT it smile

Stripped and cleaned the tiny bike finally. Considering its Italianese, hasnt been washed since October and has been ridden all winter, albeit covered in ACF50 it cleaned up really well. Only a couple of fasteners had furred up.

I cleaned the wheel weight glue on my track bike today...

It's got to that stage now
I've got to the point of disassembling mine to clean it now - found a few bits needing some fettling as well.

Reg/rec connector from the stator had corroded, then melted! Amazed it still worked given the condition of it, got a waterproof connector on the way.

Had to refit the bloody rack and top box to my old VFR. Bonus points for a tank bag with magnets which don't support the weight of it when full...

Treated myself to a “summer helmet”... not my pictures as I’m awaiting delivery!

Throwback to Xmas day! Managed to get out just before isolation too!

Pulled it apart yesterday to get the heated grips working again, because that’s something I will definitely need going forward this year on a bike that’s only brought out on warm dry days...!

I sourced an internal throttle for 7/8" standard handlebars, from italy, from the 1950s :

Set up in a dummy 22mm tube ( before machining real bike parts ) , and refined with tiny ball bearings.

Works fine and has up to 40mm travel in the brass slider.

How do the Xlite helmets fit? I've been eyeing up the same helmet myself. I have a Shoei / AGV / HJC shaped head and most definitely not a Arai or Bell shaped head.

Won’t be for you then unfortunately. AGV / Shoei hurt my head, Arai’s fit lovely!

I currently have a Nolan (same company as X Lite). Lovely helmets.

Nice! I know what you mean, I hate it when something's broken even if it's useless. biggrin

We've all got different shaped heads ! For me, the X-Lite and Nolan helmets are fantastic, a super snug comfortable fit. To be fair, I've only had their 'race' helmets but have had a Nolan X802-R, X-Lite X802-RR and X802 RR Ultra Carbon all in 'S' size. Also got an HJC RPHA something or other which is super comfortable, but the Nolan/X-Lite stuff is so light, and I think very good value

That's very nice ,they are a great fun bit of kit with a big bore kit on . I have one of the last uk bikes bought it out of a paper .

really had a itch to go touring on it a few years ago
