Hi guys

Recently traded in my GSXR 750 for a 2016 R1 with 0 miles on the clock. What a beast! Bit of a project got loads planned. For anyone interested link to a video of recent decat system and few photos below. Sorry that some look bit odd I've just taken them straight off my phone from Instagram. Cheers James

Looks (and sounds) great thumbup

After seeing a million silver / blue R1Ms in review videos etc. this model / colour looks really clean and classy, especially with the AR pipe.

Is it a guess what you have done thread apart from fitting a link pipe and bean can exhaust?

Just say what you're gonna do and have done.

Nice bike dude.

Thanks mate much appreciated. It does sound fantastic video doesn't really do it justice. I specifically hunted for a red one with 0 miles, by far my favorite colour scheme.

Sorry bud last time I was on here I got destroyed by waffling on too long so thought I'd keep it brief smile

OK mods done so far:

Austin Racing GP1R Decat (temporarily removed at the moment)
JL Designs Integrated Rear Light
JL Designs Tail Tidy
Yoshimura Paddock Stand Bobbins

After the 600 mile service dyno it to see what it's making stock - hoping for around 172-175rwhp.

Mods planned:

Install the GP1R exhaust properly.
FTecu Flash Tune with the Active Tune - Velox Racing (builds a base map then makes realtime adjustments to the base map so you achieve near perfect AFR in all conditions).
Going to start with one of the base maps that come with the software then tweak from there.
This will include disabling AIS, top speed delimit and fine tune throttle etc.

I'm aiming for 195rwhp which should be very achievable based on my research.

Cosmetic:
Puig Racing Screen
Rizoma Levers
Full Six Carbon Race Belly Pan (hopefully painted white to match Yamaha paint job - still researching this)
Some ProBolt goodies dotted around the bike
Few subtle decals

That's all that's planned for now.

Should be a beast smile

Not sure I follow (apologies if being thick!)

Light tint screen looked fantastic on the website: https://conquestcarbon.com/product/puig-yamaha-yzf...

I just prefer the slightly taller screen so when your fully tucked the aero is spot on / no wind noise.

Why's everyone being mean? He owned a GSXR 750, clearly a man of taste and distinction... Or at least he was.

I think it's very smart.

biggrin I've forgotten how much hard work these forums are!

I appreciate the exhaust isn't to everyone's taste, well in fact it's not tasteful at all but I love it and the finish quality / sound is stunning. Nothing else on the market looked very good at all in my opinion.

Anyway if anyone's interested in following the project subscribe to my YouTube channel. If not well f%^& y^% then lol

Cheers chaps

James

I have a yellow anniversary tart-fest 2016 model so I'm interested in the velox flash and real time adjustment but, to my sensitive ears, these R1s running de-cats are obnoxiously loud - even at fast idle they're just too loud.

Nice bike biggrin

I rode one for a session at Brands GP, absolutely loved it!!

So much so i considered selling and buying one, I got a test ride on one and have to say i didn't click with it on the rode as much as i did track, can't really put my finger on why though, love the handling, the noise, the speed but it just didn't feel exciting like i find my daytona. Shame as i really do like the looks noise and track experience.

Might get another test ride this year as the one i had wasn't on the best roads and i only had it for an hour.

If i did ever get one it'd have to be a 60th as i love them in yellow.

I get the idea they are far more suitable to the track than the roads.

Completely agree on the 2016 yellow one! cloud9

I think the colour of the one the OP has just bought would indicate it's actually a 2015 model? Hopefully all sorted on the gearbox recall.

Flashing the ECU and sorting out the throttle would be my first port of call if all the reports are to be believed (I would ride it first though, the internet's not always correct).

The de-cat & Austin can not to my taste but each to their own I suppose - longer cans produce a far sexier sound.

Another aim for 2018 - must blag a testride on one!
