8500 just commuting, add of a couple of euro trips and pleasure mileage and it's getting on for 15k, I voted 10-15k.

Bought my VFR with 23k miles on it in April, it's just gone over 32k this week, that's just commuting plus 3k miles on a 2 week Alps trip, plus I did a thousand or 2 on my Tuono.

I worked out the other day that since my CBT in April 2014 I've done about 45k miles, that works out roughly 12k miles every year with the added miles from now until April.

I just use the bike for weekend trips away with the lads. Granted I go on 6-8 of them every year and travel around 750 miles on average per trip. My mt09tracer that I bought new in Feb 2016 is sitting with 9855 miles on the clocks.
But it has just had its 12k service with new chain and sprockets 2 weeks ago and has only 100 miles on the tyres so its ready to go on the 1st trip next month. Plan is for a 8-9 ( 1 per month) trips ( 2-3 nights) this year with 1 of those trips being a 2 week euro trip, So I expect 10k+ this year.

Usually manage 10-12000 miles per year pleasure miles only. Try to get out both weekend days even if only for an hour around the block. Both bikes (990SMR and 990SMT) ready to go all year around but can't be arsed with the cleaning bit, so haven't done any winter miles this year . Hopefully make up for it soon with some south coast and south/mid Wales runs.

Spend most of my bike time fixing them (British bikes) hoping to sell the Bonneville and get something modern I can just jump on and go.

Ages ago I used to do about 12k a year. Where did it all go?

Haven't commuted on a bike for a long time so that's -5000.

No longer go out for monthly thrash with mates round Oxfordshire or Wales so that's -2500. UK roads are not quite as attactive as they were in the 90's.

Don't tend to do the boys Euro 10 day road trip anymore -2500. Euro roads not quite as attractive as they were in the noughties. Replaced by Euro track stuff.

Visits to race meetings with the wife now generally achieved on 4 wheels(doubly so since buying another hairdresser's car). So -1000 then.

Don't visit parentals in the West Country on the bike any more as I've just moved to within walking distance so that's -1000.

On the positives. Two European and one UK trackday is probably 1000 miles and on the road a few trips to the coast, some summer bike meets and see mates will be another 1000 at a guess. Pitiful!

Pah! Not quite - what's it like that side of fence?

If it's a measure of biking virility then the bike's getting pulled out the shed and taxed then!

Not today clearly because it's a bit chilly and damp. hehe

Only clocked 300 in the last 14 months. Work over the summer was crazy and the bike hasn't moved since I had it serviced in November.

Different job and a 42mile round trip to the yard means I'm REALLY looking forward to spring to give the 'bike a good run (only bought it 15 months ago frown )

40,000 - 60,000 I think across bikes commuting, touring and track days.
Really?

That's an average of 110 to 165 miles a day, every single day of the year. No time off for Christmas Day, holidays, sickness or bad weather.
Yessir

My commute to work is 120 miles each way. I work 44 weeks of the year, although sometimes I stay in London, work away or work from home hence the range. The other 8 weeks are holidays and racing. 2-3 weeks of my holiday is normally touring/adventure bike riding.

So yep, really.

Not enough, and that's spread across two bikes.
Probably 3500. I'd like it to be double that, if for no other reason than the more you do it the easier it is to be faster at it.
Provisionally have a trip to Romania planned for August so it might happen this year.

I do about the same across 2 bikes, wish it was more.

Nearly 30 years ago I was a despatch rider. Unless you are really committed that takes all the enjoyment out of riding and you barely ever ride for fun.
Where the cut-off lies I'm not sure. I don't use the bike for commuting, if I did I expect up to a 15 mile commute either way would probably keep your eye in, be mostly enjoyable, and you'd still be up for a ride out of hours.
I expect more than 30 miles either way and it would be a different story.

Sounds about right - I do 17 miles each way and during winter or dodgy days in spring and autumn I don't feel the need to go for a ride just for the sake of riding, 180 miles a week keeps my skills up. However in the summer I'll happily go for a 70-80 mile blast for a couple of hours after work, chasing the light on the way home (normally because I've still got my tinted visor on biggrin).

I reckon i've done a little over 3,000 miles in the last year. When I was commuting into London I was doing more like 16,000 miles/yr but since I moved job (and house) and started walking to work that's obviously dropped. I mainly use my bike now just for fun apart from the odd commute and trip into the city. When I was doing more miles, I didn't really feel like taking the bike out on the weekend just for the fun of it, but now I do. I did enjoy communting by bike though, despite the drawbacks.

I'm impressed! bow I commute 75 miles each way so understand a little about long range commuting.

I have a CB500x as my main bike. I use it every day without fail, purchased brand new in 2014 it now has 73,500 miles on it. Probably one of the highest mileage ones out there I am guessing.Just had regular oil changes.

Used to commute to London and back from Bristol and has done many two up tours of Europe.
Where do you commute from now? What is the other bike you use to put the extra 10,000 to 30,000 a year on given the CB500X (now replaced with an Africa Twin I think) did under 30,000 per year?

My first 6 months of 'big bike' riding and I've clocked 10k miles. So assuming I continue on and have a few weekend blasts that should put the figure to over 20k miles.

Don't think I managed much more than 1000 miles last year. A couple of weekend bimbles with the wife, and a trip to the IoM. Been working away too much and not had time frown
