Going first thing saturday. I'm going to sit on ducatis an cry because I cant afford them, my wife is going to buy some kevlar lined jeans and some ankle boots and we're going to avoid that bloke who sells that stty wax stuff that's meant to be a miricale cure for fogging visors.

I'm going Sunday ... it will be awesome, there will be loads of shiny stuff and helmets, lots of helmets, I need to go get pics of all mine though so I don't do what I did in November at the NEC and buy a helmet I already own and is still in all its wrapping with the tags .... gave the duplicate away for charity, this time charity starts at home ....

Im going as its not too far and ive just got back into biking after ordering a 900RS due next month.

Not been to a bike show for many years so looking forward to it.

Wondering if unlike most car shows you'll be allowed to jump all over the bikes.

I always found previously that buying kit there was expensive so im likely to just be mooching around. Taking my son who does his CBT this year

Yes you can. In fact it's almost compulsory to sit on all the bikes, pull both levers in 5 times very quickly, twist the throttle a few times while your mate takes a photo yes

It’s videos nowadays on smartphones, so you need to go “vroom” a lot, obviously pausing for upshifts.

Ok tks . That'll be my son mostly i suspect but im sure ill have a go too!

Tickets seemed reasonable especially as he gets in gratis being classed as a child still.

Bet they still have the 'brolly dollies' unlike F1

£20 parking yikes inedible overpriced food, £34 for 2 tickets, so I can save a few quid on last year's lid/jacket?? CBA this year. Humbug!
I am lucky in that my local multi-franchise has pretty much everything I want in terms of sitting/testing new bikes & places like Helmet City & Get geared are a nice ride away.....

MCN birds were very tasteful a couple of years back.
Looks like others are withdrawing their 'decorations' as well as F1: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43036944

That’s a confusing piece of journalism to say the least. It starts off talking about one exhibitors stall amd then drifts into all exhibitors without much evidence to support it, then off into prostitution and accusing the whole thing of registering prostitutes when all that happened was a few used the hashtag on twitter to try to generate some “work”

Bizarre.

Parking i wont be concerned about as ill be getting the train but agree £20 to park is a rip off.

Food at these type venues i always think is vile and expensive

This exactly. The BBC love to make a non-story exciting. The sooner licence money is pulled from them the better in my opinion

Park just south of the dock for free (it was free last time I parked there anyway)
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/ExCeL+London/@...

then walk across the Royal Victoria Bridge.
Ironically it's actually an easier park and a shorter walk than the official gouge-park.

Tends to be heaving on Sat/Sun so I'd go in the week if at all possible. Have a good time and check out the adventure shop.

car parking is ridiculously expensive but bike parking is free - should be a nice day on sunday for the short ride down to Excel and back...

I remember last year being stupidly hot... defo packing a bottle or two of water!

Top tip for parking. Alnwick Road then just walk across the bridge for the DLR

It is by Prince Regent DLR station.

Park there all the time for the Excel

Roadskin have a stand there this year - well worth a look, I'm very happy with my jeans.
