A bit premature given that it’s nearly a week away.

I’m heading to Donington for round 2 of the BTCC with some mates. First time seeing the BTCC in person and first timer to the track as well. We are camping on site in zone A so should have a good view of the track. Are there any tips or advice for newbies like me?

Redgate, Old Hairpin and the last chicane are the best places to stand for carnage, half way down the infield bank by the Craner curves gives a good view of about half the track.

Edited to change woeful predictive text spelling gone wrong

I agree with that, i'm off to watch it too, there are some historic touring cars the week later that look good too,

Hoping to be there providing it doesn't forecast heavy rain, really looking forward to it smile

If there there for the weekend make sure to view from as much as the track as you can get around. MSV have apparently made a few changes for the spectators pathways etc, and also built a new grandstand which gives view of the most of the track. Don't know if its free on the Saturday or not but might be worth getting in there if you can for some of the Saturday action...Definitely wont be free on Sunday!!

I quite like Donington as a spectator circuit, just fingers crossed for good weather for you!

£5 Saturday, £20 Sunday, does give a good view but wouldn't want to be in there if it is windy - it's a bit open!

That’s a guarantee of the Donington sun burn then... doesn’t matter if it’s cloudy and raining 99% or the time you’re there. The 1%it isn’t you get burnt.

I'm also going with a mate both days, anywhere good to sit with a camping chair?

As above, anywhere around Craners/Old Harpin is a good shout. Can see most of the track from there.

Well this weather is great....

On the M1 heading down to the track. It’s hammering it down. Camping in the rain for 2 nights, great!

Will be there tomorrow.

Hope you’ve got warm clothes. Doningtons always freezing.

Bottom of the hill is a decent spot.

Nope, I came ill prepared. Froze my knackers off last night in my £6 home bargains sleeping bag, being woken up every so often by the low flying planes coming in to land at East Midlands.

View from the tent is good though -

Weather isn’t great again today. Out in the new restaurant bit now to warm up. Rain should make for some interesting racing.

If you're watching at the track and are reading this: SIT DOWN AND THEN EVERYONE CAN SEE.

Also; don't pitch your massive tent infront of people sitting down mad

Morning. Looks like a mix up of people in the top 10 for quail will we see a 4th different winner and 3 different drivers on the podium for the first race certainly looks likely for the first race.

Left the Sunday Service early to watch this on TV. Glad I did, because PHer Dan Cammish has his first podium. I’m a bit of a fan.

Didn’t realise Mr Cammish was of this parish. Stood in the queue for the pitwalk at the moment.

Always the issue at every BTCC meeting I've been to. Get a nice spot with a lovely view for all the support races and soon as the touring cars come out the drinking establishments empty out and they all stand with their noses pressed against the fence.

So another new race winner in cook and 3 different drivers on the podium this year is looking the most unpredictable year ever.
