Has anyone fitted a remote vacuum pump to their libra/ kit car? I wish to run individual throttle bodies on my car but do not want to retain the vacuum pipe running from the back of the car to the brake servo at the front. Retaining this this pipe would mean that I would have to have the new throttle bodies tapped and threaded. I think that the remote servo would be a simpler set up as I will be getting an auto electrician to look at the car anyway and the new parts wont need to be machined. While fitting this pump I will also service the brakes with new disks and pads. If I am still not happy with the feel of this set up I will then uprate the callipers further. Has anyone done this or had experience with this set up? I would be interested to hear peoples opinions on if this is the best way to proceed.

Do you really need servoed brakes at all?

The S1 Elise, which was very similar weight and configuration to the Libra, did just fine without them.

Most modern cars seem to have a little 12v pump for vac assistance....might be to do with that start-stop nonsense. SO cheap and readily available.

Would I trust it for full time braking assistance ? not sure on that one.

Remove the servo would be the easiest option.
