Yeah you'll get 4-6 points and a means tested fine.

Big tip on the fine, make a very large pension contribution that month, they ask for net income so it'll lower the fine substantially.

My fine was only £300, 1/4 of what the guide says it should have been for 105-110 on the M25 (also got 6 points...)

What part of the M25?

8-7 anti-clock IIRC, unmarked Audi S3

Howdy OP,

For Scotland, I would definitely suggest a local solicitor. Just my observation but the Scottish attitude to speeding is harsher than English guidelines. I was caught doing 76 in a 50 on the A1 heading into Scotland by an unmarked police car a couple of years back. Looking on PePiPoo the Scottish guidelines for that particular infraction was a summons and 6 points, plus a possible disqualification (7-56 days), with a fine of £200 - £1000 for good measure.

I dropped an email to ATGLAW on the forums and he suggested a couple of firms depending if the Sheriff was Edinburgh or Glasgow. They were brilliant, I can look them up and give you their contact details if you drop me a PM.

In the end they made numerous calls and attended court twice on my behalf, my outcome was 4 points and £300 fine, and no need for me to travel up and attend court twice.

Best of luck!

Pulled over for a 52 in a 30 in October. Received letter last week, £811 fine and 6 points frown
Was that your first communication? I thought you had to be summonsed/fined within 6 months of the offence

I'm going back to 2003, but I was nobbled for doing 89 in a 60. Bloody Hayabusa! Went to court, mitigating letter from employer etc, and it was 5 points and £250 fine.

Get a solicitor. I know 3 bikers caught the same day by the same cops at the same speed, a lot faster than you but in the same area.

2 took representation, 1 didn't. All 3 got banned but the one without a solicitor got an 18 month ban, the other 2 got a 12 month ban. Solicitors won't get you off but they will reduce things enough to make it worthwhile.

Mate got busted at the same speed also from Aberdeen.

I believe he took legal advice, but I don't believe he was represented, just primed. Dressed like he actually gave a st, waited his turn, said his bit, and as above I think it was 6 points and a reasonable fine. It's not that bad.

Sorry if you have already said but where were you busted?

Being a bit of a tt a couple of years ago saw me caught at 55 in a 30 in Scotland. (Well known road local to me with recently reduced limit)

Paid a road traffic solicitor £200 to represent me at the pleading diet after receiving the summons. 3 points and a £150 fine as I was on apprentice wages at the time.

I got lucky, but it does show that its possible.

Was that the dark grey or Black S3 as I see them pulling people over on the A3

Get down to Matt-Alan for standard court/funeral/interview suit, stand up when asked to, reply everything with "yes or no your honour", get a lawyer and say some ste along the lines off "i've joined the IAM and have sold the bike for a GS". Let us know how you get on.

It's on the luck of the judge by the sounds of it, I've been in the court cells with serial offenders that punch the air gleefully when judge A is called (ah he's sound i'll just offer him a bit of ching) or literally st a brick when judge B is (fk, I'm going down).

I was just outside of Huntly on the overtaking lane heading towards Keith, the one with the lay-by that almost always contains a police car. I'm stupid, i know. I'll try and arrange a mitigating letter from my employer as i am required to drive for my work, and then I'll look into the costs of getting a Solicitor and figure out whether or not it would be worth taking one on. As said previously i currently have a clean license so as long as they don't go higher than 6 points i should be alright. Very tempted to sell the sports bike for a tourer or a cruiser. I wonder if blaming my lovely new exhaust for egging me on would help.

I think my mate was pulled on the same stretch but closer Aviemore as that's a bad spot as well.

I remember him saying never to talk about the performance of the car or mention overtaking. The latter as it demonstrates you have brought outside parties into the scenario, so you can expect to be raped, but your solicitor will obviously know all nuances like this and tell you. Stuff like that is worth paying someone to know. I'm sure you'll be alright.

I got busted doing an indicated 100mph+ (there's a thread on here somewhere), and I was let off with three points. Based on the above I still can't believe how lucky I was, so much so with hindsight I think there had been some sort of error (the road is now a 50mph limit as well).

I must admit, it changed the way I ride. But just made me a lot more fussy of where I pin it, I similarly said I would sell the sportsbike but I didn't. I just put it away until spring.

We all promise ourselves we're changed men when we get caught, but we're not. We're all fking criminals when it comes to speeding.

Still no court letter, hoping they've forgotten somehow😂 nearly half way to getting away with it. No doubt it'll arrive 5 months after the offense so i've plenty time to get my hopes up.
